Went with Riviera, who need to drop this hotel.

Staff lazy and just not interested They take ages to fill dishes during meals and slam the plates on the table.
Food no better than school dinners. Chicken portion so small they must get 3 from a small breast
Swordfish steak so thin you can see through, Cheap poor quality food
Breakfast is a total joke. They put out 2 old coffee machines for between 100 and 150 people, which have all instructions in Italian only. it can take 5 - 10 minutes just to get a cup of hot water.
cereal old and soggy, enough scambled egg for 2 people only.

Rooms had noisy air con, old tv which hardly worked, broken tiles in bathroom, dirty brown marks round shower.

The hotel looks toward the sea, but you cannot get to the sea as all the roads are blocked off. There are no bars, shops or restaurants within 2 miles.

Never again

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of an escorted tour organised by Riviera Travel.
Our room was on the first floor of the refurbished block. NB There are no lifts in this hotel. The room was comfortable enough but the bathroom had a decking floor which extended into the shower room. This will need replacing fairly quickly as there was standing water on the deck after every shower.
Whilst the food was adequate it was nothing to write home about. The wait staff disappeared on occasions so it was as well that most courses were buffet service.
The decor of the hotel would probably best be described as modern. It reminded us of the TV programme from the 1990's "Changing Rooms" and like most of their creations it will look tatty sooner rather than later.
Not the best hotel we have ever stayed at.

Our ground floor room was basic but comfortable and located in the refurbished ‘wing’. There were 3 single beds well spaced out. Unfortunately the room had a ‘musty’ smell and the bedclothes felt damp. There was insufficient water for a hot shower on the first night but it was plentiful after that. The shower room had a wooden, slat floor which was 'noisy' but the walk-in shower was a good size and the shower efficient. The in-room safe did not work but was repaired on the 2nd day. With the exception of one particular waitress all the staff were friendly. There was a good selection of food including table d’hote, main courses which were plentiful and appetising. On one night a number of people complained that the fish was cold. The hotel location was ‘out of the way’ with no easy access to local areas. I walked along the road to the port and having done it, I would not recommend it. We travelled as a group on an escorted tour and had no choice in the selection of hotels but this was not one of the best we have experienced. We would not choose the hotel independently other than as an overnighter.

Room Tip: We were led to beolieve rooms in the refurbished area were the best.

In 2011 I spent a twoweek holiday here with my family (husband, three children and the boyfriend of my daughter). The swimming pool is stunning, the food is nice, the cocktails are great and the service is fine.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights as part of a two centre holiday with Riviera. The room overlooked the sea and was very comfortable but the flat screen television did not work and the water in the shower was at best tepid. The swimming pool is attractive but on this occasion had several areas of green weed growing in the water. The poolside bar was not open during this last week of October though the weather was good. The food in the dining room was adequate but certainly not up to the standard expected in a four star hotel. We were intrigued to see how many different ways aubergines could be presented as a starter every night. The hotel is isolated so it was not feasible to go out to another restaurant. We are suprised that Riviera accept the standards here especially as there are several similar reviews which we read on our return. Travel with them in the past has been a better experience
If there was a plus side, the staff were very charming and the tour guide Rosario was exceptional

Room Tip: Chosse a room with a sea view and balcony

The hotel is a good standard, grounds are good and well kept. The food was very poor. It was very much frozen or tinned food, with no taste at all. For example: why server tinned fruit, when you have a country with so much fresh fruit! If the hotel had not been so far out, then we would have eaten out. Could not even walk anywhere, the only road access was a main road where you could not walk. Definately would not recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room, as many look at a wall!!

Our lovely trip to Sicily was marred by the poor facilities offered to us at the Hotel Kaos in Agrigento. Upon arrival there was no assistance with our luggage, no hot water (for the whole of our stay). We had no TV service as promised and no sockets to charge our 'phones or cameras. There were large gaps in the laminate flooring and a broken, missing mouldy tile trim in the shower. The shower head was broken and the water pressure very low indeed. The air-con was far too noisy to be used at night and the bedside lamp had a faulty switch that flickered on and off. The swimming pool was dirty and full of insects and green slime. Due to electricity failures we could not get a second coffee with our breakfast and the fridge in our room defrosted. Our evening meal was unsatisfactory and we were left no information about the surrounding area whatsoever. Staff were friendly but unable to help with any problems. Management were invisible. Shame as the building and it's gardens were pretty.
