Loved the experience. Though it was hot, there were trees for shade and I could spend time at the temple

We were most impressed with the Valley of the Temples. The Temple of Hercules is one of many that has been well preserved, considering the earthquake damage to this site many centuries ago.

Another brilliant sight to behold. You get the feeling of being in ancient Greece, with all its splendour.Take water with you if it is hot as you certainly feel the heat out in the open.

Hercules' temple still has a few columns up. Good for him, after all of these years! I can't believe that anybody managed to build these things, and it's amazing to look at something that you think is just a rock and suddenly realize that you're looking at a fallen column. They're scattered all over this site, and I found myself looking out at the surrounding countryside and wondering how many more remnants there are below of farms and houses that once belonged to this ancient people. I mourn the fact that there is a road that runs so close to these temples, but realize I probably wouldn't be here if it weren't for these roads. Catch 22. So, I'm happy that my family and I were able to come here and enjoy this history lesson.

Again, get here early in the day. We came here at the end of April and it's hot already during the day!
