Owner description: This region is one of the most important archeological sites in the world with many great temples such as Hera (Juno,) Lacinia, Concordia, Heracles (Hercules) and Olympian Zeus (Jupiter,) all dramatically perched along a long rocky scarp.

Amazing sight. Lots to discover and explore. Plan on at least 3-4 hours.

Park in lower lot, buy tickets and walk up along temples to top (~2km). Or you can take a taxi to top (3 euro) and walk back down. We walked it. Great picture opportunities from different angles both directions. There is one cafe inside about half way that has clean restrooms and food/ drink.

If you go, the sunlight in the afternoon on this acropolis is breathtaking. Giuseppe (older gentleman) was a wonderful guide who is so proud of this monument that it made the tour so exciting.

Perhaps for someone who’s exposed to ancient Greek culture for the first time its very impressive but for someone who’s been immersed in it for many years it was not that impressive. There is practically nothing much to see there. Don’t get me wrong it’s still very nice and a great time out but traveling for nearly 4 hours all this way to Agrigento from Palermo to see this was... not worth it.
The highlight for me personally was Mitoraj’s sculpture.

Very impressive. You can’t imagine how one must have built these temples with enormous blocks of stone l, with hardly any tooling.

Dating from 6 BC until 2 AC, it is unbelievable how much is left. Beautifull location, too.
