I was lucky to be able to take a night visit in the Valley of Temples, after 8 pm,a beautiful autumn night, with many people around admiring the same scenario :the temples very well lighted, and a serenity and magic atmosphere all around !
I think is better to see them in the night,is less crowded and there for is quiet and you can enjoy peacefully all around. Not to mention that the parking was very easy, cheap,in the proximity of the entrance.
Nice experience !

Absolutely brilliant which was in some way due to JV as the guide Helena was superb. She took pains to take us round this wonderful place and ensured that we were in the shade when we stopped to listen to her. She was interesting, clear and took pains to check that we we could all hear her. It was magnificent and Helena also added information such as pointing out the mangrove and absinthe plants. Excellent

all in one park you see those remarkable ruins and tombes. i got a walking tour with enzio a well informed guid who loves his histoty. after about 2 hrs i strolled around on my owen and found the gardens of kolymbetra. another nice walk in hystoricly recreated gardens with some extinct plants. also if you are over 65 you get in for free to the tempel area, just ask. not the gardens. the turkish steps outside of agriggento are also very impressive. about 40 km from town. gerta m

There are three Greek temples here (one mostly catacombs and other underground structures), as well as an old Roman defensive wall. Very impressive, especially with the backdrop of vineyards, olive orchards and a modern city a few miles off on top of a hill. Pretty touristy, with tour buses, but there is a lot of open space. Excellent bathroom facilities.
