Owner description: This region is one of the most important archeological sites in the world with many great temples such as Hera (Juno,) Lacinia, Concordia, Heracles (Hercules) and Olympian Zeus (Jupiter,) all dramatically perched along a long rocky scarp.

fantastic site with 9 temples that you can get close too right off the coast. a lot of walking and there is no shade. The entrance is a little hard to find so follow the tour buses thru town if your driving and remember that the town is higher than the site so you will always be going down the hill to get to the entrance. also there is only one bathroom in the center of the site, no where near the entrance so if you have to go before you get there i suggest you go in town. this is a more than 3 hour stop and walking is a must. bring your camera and sun block since there is very little shade and very windy right off the coast

A lot of quality English descriptions throughout the site but there is some confusion on a site across a private property barrier

I was there in April ... the weather was rainy and a lot of clouds at the sky... But the View at the temple was really woth to go there. If you are in sicily this atttraction should be on you trip.
The feeling between the temples and the hills walking around the big monuments of a past century was incredible.
take some time with you ... the place is magic.

Many different Greecians style temples from 5th century BC. They don't reside in a valley but more on a ridge outside the town of Agrigento.

An important tip, there are three different entrances in order to see it all. Make sure you walk to all of them and don't lose your ticket. Even more important, do not park on the side of the road, even when you see other cars there. There are lines that look like there is free offstreet parking on the way up the hill from the coast and cars will be there within those lines. You will be ticketed 40 Euro. If you get there early enough, you can park at the top of the hill inside the yellow lines. You purchase a parking pass at a vender inside the bus staging area and place it on your dash. Or you can park at the lot at the bottom of the hill below the Greek Amphitheator.
