Great food and lovely service......and direct view to the lighted temples..........we had a table on the terrace with live music. We eated pasta with sea food, was delicious.......and even tought the main course, big prawns with a special sauce.....and at the end the cassata siciliana..........a cake that taste divine

As someone said below, pretentious is the correct word. The food is beautifully presented, but once you put it in the mouth, it is another story. No taste, wrong textures, too little seafood in the dishes. We even tried dessert to see if it saved the meal somehow, but nothing. Service is a bunch of distracted young men. One of them actually ignored us purposefully, as our table was not attended by him (is it too hard to come and say he'll fetch our waiter? oh, boy...embarrassing).
Our night was not ruined because company was great and also because the full moon rose beyond Temple of Hera (the service that night had been transferred to the terrace).

I should have been forewarned by the mixed reviews this restaurant received on Tripadvisor, but we decided to hope for the best because we were staying at the Villa Athena and there are no other restaurants within walking distance. Anyway, it proved a vain hope. Although we had made a reservation (and although there were only a handful of other diners), we were not even served bread for nearly an hour. When the first course finally came, it was a major disappointment -- stodgy risotto and cold seafood pasta. The saving grace was the roast spring lamb that came as our second course -- juicy on the inside, crisp on the outside -- perfectly cooked as far as we were concerned, and we largely ignored the miniscule portion of cold vegetables that garnished it. Still, we felt slightly better off than the couple at the next table, who told the waiter that their meal had been cold, overcooked, and "just dreadful". They refused the offer of a free dessert to compensate for their disappointment, but we did accept the offer of free grappa for ours.

I am not sure what the problem with this restaurant is, but I assume it is a management issue, because the staff are clearly able to do some things (such as the lamb) well. My advice for others who decide to eat here after all, is to avoid the fish and other "house specialties" in favor of things that are either uncooked (such as antipasto) or grilled to order (like the lamb). The wine list (and the grappa) are good.

Service was impeccable, food even better. Can't even begin to explain how amazing everything was! Each dish was a delicious surprise. The ambience is very romantic with an astonishing view of the temples you can enjoy while having your dinner! The staff were as friendly an helpful as could be.

My companion's shrimp pasta came lukewarm with two shrimp; I had much better spaghetti with mussels at a cafe in Syracuse. The service was haughty and annoying. I'd avoid this place.
