Eight of us hiked in Naples and Amalfi for a week with Girosole and they had wonderful tour guides, Luigi and Lisa, who took us to fabulous places. We never would have seen the incredible views, small villages, waterfalls and historic landmarks without their assistance. We stayed at Casa Teresa in Positano which was a lovely bed and breakfast with gracious hosts and wonderful food. Luigi was the most personable guide ever, a native of Capri but worked in the US on several occasions so his English was exceptional. He was sensitive to the groups needs, friendly, funny and informative, we would definitely recommend him highly. The hiking was challenging but well within reach, well marked and breathtaking.

We had a wonderful trip - it was really fantastic.

Our guides were wonderful. They made the trip memorable and helped us in every possible way. The paths were well marked and the directions easy to follow. All of the accomodations were wonderful and there was great food and wine in every town.

Also, we stopped at an excellent winery (just outside of Buenconvento, on the path to Montalcino) and had a nice tasting and enjoyed beautiful views. The winery staff were very pleasant and we ended up ordering some wine to be shipped to the U.S.

My boyfriend and I did lots of research before selecting Girosole - save yourself the time and book with them!

We had a great experience overall.
The destinations and hotels were fabulous and the local team was wonderful.
The walking instructions were very clear and we only got lost once on the
first day.
If we ever do this again, we will request a program that alternates walking
days and rest days.
Thanks for a most enjoyable trip.

Our tour was wonderful in every way! The accommodations could not have been
better for us. We elected to stay in beautiful Bagno
Vignone. Our room looked on to the breathtaking pool in the center of town.
Great mix of meals on our own and with Michelangelo. Of course, they can
never again offer the real high point of the trip.... Unless another guide can arrange for his first son to be born during the tour.
Michelangelo managed to make us feel part of the excitement without missing
a beat as tour guide. The guide is pricey but we had experiences we never would have had on our own and we made a friend.

This was by far one of the best vacation experiences I've had. Walking Tuscany is an amazing experience and a wonderful way to see the country. My husband and did the self-guided walking tour of Tuscany in late November. I was a little worried about weather and it being the off-season, but everything was perfect. There were some sites and restaurants that were closed, but not enough to diminish our enjoyment. The weather was perfect (sun everyday! we were lucky) and we never needed dinner reservations!

All the hotels were wonderful - very nice accommodation at the "comfort" class. The breakfast buffets were always much more than I had expected. The walking directions are charming, detailed, and get you exactly where you need to go. Paolo and Giacomo were wonderful. So friendly and obviously love what their are doing and sharing their homeland with others. They drove us part way to Montepulciano the last day we walked (I got a cold on about the third day and felt a little tired - on the plus side, Italian pharmacists are very nice and I can now purchase various cold remedies in Italian), which was much appreciated and we enjoyed chatting with Paolo and Giacomo.

The only "problem" was the friendly dog that followed us all the way to the Abbey our second day - we weren't sure what to do with him! That was the only time we had to call Giacomo and ask for advice.

Overall, wonderful experience. I can't wait to do something like this again and I highly recommend a walking tour with Girosole.
