Absolutely beautiful. Chateau in a park setting, complete with a meadow and deer for an afternoon stroll. And it gets better, the room is terrific and the staff friendly, intelligent with a true desire to make our stay the best possible. Make dinner reservations at the restaurant as it does sell out routinely.

Room Tip: Reserve in the main chateau if possible on the 1st floor (2nd in America).

We never felt so much welcomed and important like in this chateau.Every one was trying to make us happy. Our original room had low celling and small windows and we were offered a better room.
Extra towels- no problem, cup of coffee on a terrace-absolutely, light at the desk after hours- with pleasure, even a blanket in a cold night..Everything was so nice and pleasant. We felt as VIP from every person in this hotel.
Thank you again so much.

Room Tip: Call prior to and check on your room location, top floor has low celling and very small windows in a...

We should have stayed longer! The chateau and staff were wonderful. Our room was newly renovated and luxurious, much nicer than the three star rating. We were there for dinner which was delicious and also for breakfast which is a nice buffet. Everything is reasonably priced and we had a delicious bottle of local Cremant with dinner. It is a beautiful setting with ducks on the pond and a pasture with deer. The chateau is very close to the Burgundy Canal and Chateauneuf-en-Auxois which is a cute town with a number of good restaurants. Would definitely recommend a stay at Chateau Sainte Sabine.

We travel from UK to France and back on a regular basis and this was our first stay at Chateau Sainte Sabine. Highly recommend it as a place to relax, walk, go wine tasting (being in Burgundy!) etc. We had our black labrador with us and they were more than happy for him to stay there too (there were a number of other dogs staying there). The restaurant served excellent food, all local produce, though the only minus would be that the restaurant didn't have a huge amount of atmosphere. The pool was lovely and clean but too cold - needs to be heated! the grounds are lovely to walk around, including a lovely enclosed area where there was a pig, lots of deer a donkey and even a wallaby!!
One word of warning is that the church bells ring out so may be worth popping in earplugs if you want to sleep in!! Still charming though!

From the very moment we arrive until the second we left this fabulous chateau we were treated like royalty and can only recommend it to you. On arrival at check in we were greeted as long lost friends and just shown to our amazing room high up in one of the recently refurbished turrets. There was no copies of passports or credit cards required, car registration or similar questions - just did you enjoy your journey here and please make yourself feel at home.

We had booked dinner as well which was beautiful and were served appetitive s in the fabulous lounge bar before being taken to our seats and table in the dining room.

All in all a most wonderful stay and we will certainly be calling back again at the earliest opportunity. A beautiful property in the most stunning of locations and just a fabulous experience from start to finish.

Room Tip: If you are able bodied go for the top floor room in the turret which has just been refurbished to a...

We had a fantastic stay in this hotel-château. It's a 3 star hotel but it could be a 5 star one. The room was luxury, there is a bar with a superb terrace overlooking a little pond, the staff is very helpful and kind. We also had a delicious breakfast in an elegant breakfast room. It was a pity we couldn't dinner in the hotel restaurant because it was fully booked!

We broke up a drive between Paris and Provence with a night at Chateau Sainte Sabine and regret not staying longer.

The location is idyllic, in a tiny picture-perfect but not-touristy-at-all village surrounded by fields and rolling hills. The Chateau itself has been carefully refurbished with fresh, modern decor while preserving the building's beautiful original features. Our room (suite 200) was large, delightfully decorated, super-clean with a comfortable mattress, a bath/shower with good water pressure at the right temperature, and lots of conveniently placed outlets for charging phones and iPads.

The service was impeccable; extremely friendly, attentive and genuinely helpful. And the dinner was amazing; outstanding quality for the price.

I would recommend a stay for anyone looking for a countryside get-away; active people could use it as a base for a cycling holiday in Burgundy (the famous canal route is nearby); couples will enjoy the romantic setting and larger groups or families would appreciate the clubby feel.

As a luxury traveller, I was a little worried about staying at a 3 star hotel but needn't have been. Chateau Saint-Sabine gets 5 stars from me.
