“Fantastic Orientation and Kayak Rental Services!”
Reviewed May 30, 2011

We were just expecting to rent a kayak to head out to the Cook Monument and have to figure out everything else for ourselves from there. Luckily for us, the guys at Aloha Kayak were amazing and gave us a very thorough orientation on everything we should bring with us, what we would need to do, what the tide would be like, how to get to the launching point, how to launch the kayak and get back out, what were the best snorkeling spots and best times to go to beat the rush from the big motorboats coming in, where to expect to see dolphins, basically all the details we didn't even think of considering. All this and they loaded and unloaded the double kayak for us with great ease (which really impressed us later when it took us awhile to do ourselves despite the very thorough instruction on how to do it!) We were very happy to get all this advice with our kayak rental and can't thank Aloha Kayak more. Everyone should rent from them and support this fantastic local business that clearly cares so much about doing things right!

“Best Snorkel Location”
Reviewed May 8, 2011

Four females 52-66 were lucky enough to find Aloha Kayak Co. for an ocean kayak, snorkel and Capt. Cook monument tour. Our hawaii-born local guide, Keean, got us safely across Kealakekua Bay to the most wonderful snorkeling any of us has
experienced. Keean was informative and considerate. When one of our snorkels malfunctioned, he loaned us his own. During the 1-hr. snorkel the fish and coral were plentiful & colorful. The Cook monument and history of the surrounding area was well conveyed by our guide. I highly recommend this kayak company.

“Kayak and Snorkel with Aloha Kayak Co.”
Reviewed May 4, 2011

Four of us rented 2 kayaks and went on the morning snorkel tour to Captain Cook Monument with Aloha Kayak Co. It was a great experience. Our guide, John, gave us expert instructions on kayaking and was full of so much information and history of the area. He was constantly watchful that each of us was safe, and expertly guided us into and out of the rocky cove. We would certainly use Aloha Kayak Co. again!

“Took care of everything”
Reviewed March 26, 2011

We rented two tandem kayaks from Aloha. The staff was great. They loaded the kayaks onto the rental car, explained procedures, gave a good orientation to Kealakekua Bay. At Napo'opo'o pier there were even guys there to help unload and launch which we REALLY appreciated. We were a little anxious about launching, not being very experienced, but all we had to do was stay out of their way. They unloaded and helped us into the water. Highly recommended. Snorkeling at the Captain Cook monument is the best! Please be sure you have a permit if you land. Easily obtained online through Hawaii State Parks.
