“Heaven on Earth.......”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

You wake up with birds chirping, served hot tea and take a stroll in the quiet and friendly hamlet in the wonderful valley of mirik busty.....pampered by the hospitality of the Dipankar, his parents, sister and his staff....the exotic veg spreads.....the evenings will be adda with the gurung family in the forelawn, local folklore...and to add to the beauty is the thousand lights studded like twinkling stars in the mountain opposite to this place.......This is the Combo Pack of RangBang Homestay that is offered to their Guests!!!!! Once you reach there, you would not like to go out for any site visits...because RangBang Homesaty is itself a site to visit...Cherished every bit of it and the adieu from the Homestay is very touching...with Mr & Mrs gurung personally sees all their guests off along with a token of their gratitude.......Well Done Dipankar.....Will definitely go back again.....Cheers!

Tucked away in one of the most beautiful surroundings in and around Mirik Busty, Rangbhang Homestay ,away from the hustle and bustle of city life is a perfect escapade. About three kilometers from Mirik, it is a perfect destination for one looking for a quiet cozy house in the midst of orange groves. Best time to visit this place is from November to February.

One can experience village life in all its fullness. There are no motorable roads connecting the village houses but cobbled footpaths that would remind us of fairy tales. So, morning and evening strolls would be ideal around these houses.

Moreover, hospitality is writ on the faces of the villagers who are a charming lot and would love to interact with outsiders.

Room Tip: There are 4 cottages, all facing the valley and Kurseong City beyond it. The night view is awesome w...

I was little apprehensive about the place when we booked it...had almost no information about it apart from the fact that it had an orange orchard. I went in May, so could not have expected oranges!!
I came back from Rangbhang , determined to go back again. You could have stayed in some of the best of the hotels across the world , but nowhere will they make mouthwatering bittergourd preparation for you, just because your husband has sugar!! Its the personal care at this homestay that will touch your heart, and tummy, if you are a foodie. Rooms are clean with simple and nice decor( even the keyrings are exquisite), the green hills around will soothe your eyes and soul, the family's older members will touch your heart with their warmth and the younger members will leave no stones unturned to plan your trips and ensure that you have a safe journey. You may go to Mirik or just loiter around. And, well, I had internet connectivity as well, tad slow, though:)

RANGBHANG HOMESTAY…* Nature Walk* Village/Jungle Trek* Local Cuisine* River Picnics Tucked away in one of the most beautiful surroundings in and around Mirik Busty, Rangbhang Homestay ,away from the hustle and bustle of city life is a perfect escapade. About three kilometers from Mirik, it is a perfect destination for one looking for a quiet cozy house in the midst of orange groves. The brainchild of one of the local unemployed youths, but with a diploma in hotel management, has started a new venture for it is here that organic farming is practised, so one can get unadulterated menu on the table from fresh vegetables to fresh milk which in turn provides employment for other unemployed youths of the villages.Another special feature of this place is the integration of different communities. There are the Lepchas, Gurungs, Tamangs, Rais and Limboos. They have their own dialects which linguists would be attracted to. They have their own unique culture, food and lifestyle. As it is, Mirik Busty is arguably the biggest busty in the whole of Bengal. As most of the houses around the homestay practise Kabir Panth, their main life style is vegetarian food. Those of us who have never had an opportunity to delve into this religion, this is the right moment. Other religions are not far off. There is a Roman Catholic chapel run by the Salesian fathers for those wishing to spend an hour in meditative silence. There is a Buddhist monastery and a Kabir Panth math. Evening and winter time would be a time of splendor by sitting around the fireside and chatting endlessly amidst the cool air On special request the hosts of RHS can also arrange a suite of Nepali Music and folk dance items for the guests which would be unforgettable. To top it all, an RHS experience would be COUNTRY LIFE personified. ... more   less
