We stayed 3 nights at Tenuta Monvillone and could not fault the hospitality and generosity of the Conti family. The rooms were very spacious and of very good quality, with a pleasant balcony overlooking the pretty garden, swimming pool and the castle of Cereseto. The position, between Casale Monferrato and Asti, is perfect for wine tasting. It's a quieter area than around Barolo/Alba but enjoyable nonetheless. The highlight of our stay however was the fabulous food prepared by Signora Conti and served with great aplomb by her son Riccardo. Despite being the only guests on 2 midweek nights, Riccardo insisted that it was their pleasure to cook for us, so we dined on 4 or 5 courses of delicious food, seated in the impressive dining room/restaurant. We were utterley spoilt and could not have asked for more.
