The owner is an unpretentious, competent chef who takes a pride in his offerings. he takes traditional dishes, which elsewhere are often disappointing and makes them a pleasure to eat.

“A hidden jewel in Andorra”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

La Burna is a small hotel restaurant up in the mountains of Andorra, just outside the small town of Sispony, uphill from La Massana. It is a wonderful location that offers panoramic views on the valley and the mountains around, in which the Casamanya dominates like an old pyramid. But this is just the inicial setting for the marvellous homemade feel-good cooking of Ot Sala, the owner and chef of La Burna. Most of the products used come from La Burna's own garden, potatoes, cabbages, carrots,... you name it. On season, you will find also the mushrooms that Ot and his wife find in the woods around the hotel. For the rest, most comes from local producers and are picked for their quality as well as for their roots. Not surprisingly, Ot's cooking is also rooted in this harsh but beautiful land, with some french influences. You will find here delicious home-made soups, scramble eggs with mountain mushrooms, cod brandade, civet, meatballs with cuttlefish, and so many other classics. The offered choice will, I am sure, meet anybody's expectations. Of course, keep some room for the desserts, they are as delicious as the main dishes. So you think that all this will come at a price... then you will be surprised once again, since the bill will be also extremely thight at less than 20€/person including wine and coffee. So don't be surprised if most of the costumers are locals, they know where to eat well at a great value. Once you will have discovered La Burna, you (and your stomach) will never forget how to get there again!
