We visited le temps for the first time in 2016. The lunch was very good so we decided to return this year. The restaurant was very busy with two large groups as well as every table being used so the wait was a bit longer than it had been last year. However it was well worth the wait. Water was provided for the dog without being asked and a complementary glass of melon juice preceded starters. I sometimes have a problem in restaurants being a pescatarian but the 1st course was fine whereas the mains were happily changed for me. The food was all delicious, the service very good as was the ambiance. Well worth a visit.

I'm Irish, my husband is local. We were visiting and he'd booked a table for the family for mothers day (in Ireland, not here). Drove 30 mins and waitress couldn't find the booking. My husband gave her details; booked Thursday, spoke to a man. The chef so, she replies.. She returned with a lady with short dark hair, (it's a small restaurant..). Yes, the chef remembers your call but he forgot to put it in the book. We're full. No apology, no please come again and have a drink on us, NOTHING. This is a remote area. There's nowhere else to go. So 8.15pm on the side of the street with no food. 40 mins back to Louvroil to l'arrlechino, where we ate very well and we're treated like clients.. Thankfully.
I won't go again clearly. I don't believe they deserve your visit either..

We visited the le temps restaurant with an open mind as although Maroilles is the home of a wonderful cheese I couldn't say the same for the restaurants. This restaurant broke the mould and offered very good food. A bit disappointing for the vegetarian as only starters were available but the very obliging maitre de sorted something out. There were fish dishes available for the pescetarians. The meal wasn't cheap but it was value for money and we felt we could recommend to anyone, a lot of effort was put into pleasing the customer. Delicious cuisine.

Hunger is a poor requisite for choosing an eatery but we are glad we chose this abode. Traditional fare, well presented by lovely staff made it a great stop.
Interestingly it was the square of cow's cheese with an orange crust and a somewhat persistent aroma that drew us lemming-like to this town. Its a beautiful place, located in a nature reserve and ensconced in the meadows crossed by rivers. It is typical of the towns we accosted in the Nord, with its red-brick houses, baroque church and occasional cloudless skies.
The tourist office is a friendly, bustling place dispensing good directions and advice on attractions. After many cobbled streets its a pleasure to traverse the village's narrow ones. You cannot come to this village without trying Maroilles cheese, a kind of oven-baked tart laced with fresh cream and covered in chunky slices of Maroilles. Beware, the odour given off during baking is mighty powerful but the taste is less overpowering.
The bell chimes are like an anthem of the region calling the faithful to lunch. On Sundays, a flea market in June stretches for more than 6 km in length . We couldn't be happier trawling this mega- mart of useful and irrelevant findings
