“Fantastic pool and wonderful staff, other disappointments however....”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

Summary: don’t expect the quality of the rooms to meet the standard of the fantastic pool or the food to meet the high quality of the staff. Nothing caused reason for complaint but felt they could push it a bit further to make it perfect....

Location & pool: Situated about a 15 minute drive from the coast up on the hills, there is a shuttle bus service but I would really recommend a car if you want to get out and about a bit more or just to the supermarket. The views, especially from the pool, are great looking down over Los Christianos and to sea. A lovely large pool and smaller kids pools both warm and plenty of loungers around – it didn’t seem to get busy but we were there before school holidays. Couldn’t fault the pool area at all, top notch. Walking around the only odd thing was green wheelie bins around the accommodation areas; surely a nice bin would be more in keeping with the vibe of the place!

Accommodation: arranged in two rows from the pool. We had a ground floor 2 bed on the block furthest away from the pool, generally it worked for us and no major complaints. My tip would be if you have younger children to go for one of these as it had a completely enclosed terraces allowing kids outside without any worries. Rooms on the pool front were open meaning kids could get out and into the pool – good for older ones, not great for toddlers! However, the second block backed onto the passing road which every hour or so had a fleet of quad bikes thundering up on the hill with tourists on board – a bit annoying. Kitchen did look like it had come from a discount warehouse and wasn’t in keeping with the rest of the accommodation, but fully equipped & functional. As we were shown around the staff member proudly pointed out the location of the ironing board – it would appear its designated home was propped up behind the draws in the bedroom – find a cupboard for it!! The air con unit failed to make a significant contribution versus the noise it made so spent most of our time there turned off, would not like to experience that in the middle of summer. The other issue I had was the technology in the room, just about got a WIFI signal – whilst they only claim to have WIFI by the pool it’s not hard nowadays to provide this as standard, also the twin deck cassette player and CRT portable TV in the bedroom could do with an update. However, overall there wasn’t anything which was missing, significantly unconformable or broken in the room.

Staff & Food: the staff were really good, always friendly and helpful. From greeting to departure had no issues whatsoever. The food side of things however did really disappoint – to be honest the lunchtime menu that was served was more in keeping with an ex-pat British boozer on the sea front. The evening meals were slightly better but really nothing to write home about, however it was handy and they did do take away if you wanted to eat in but just a shame they didn’t get this bit right. Didn’t try their flag ship restaurant which was 5 mins up the road but that did look good and seems to get great reviews.

We had a lovely holiday here – the surrounding area appears to have had significant investment in it and is a great location so some sun later in the year. I would return in the hope they continue to improve and take the resort from very good to great.

We stayed in apt 318 18/10 until 25/10 and can honestly say the apt was scrupulously clean and the kitchen very well kitted out. From our balcony and roof terrace we had a magnificent view of of the spectacular sunsets over the sea at Los Cristianos. The on-site mini market was adequate, but if you required a Supermarket 10 mins by car would get you there.Area surrounding pool immaculate and ample sunloungers..In house restaurant & bar excellent.
All staff friendly,efficeint and helpful
Would definitely return

Stayed here in November/December of last year just as a get away holiday as part of my families accommodation time share. Was very quiet this time of year, which was an advantage! Hotel food was brill, ate here more times than anywhere else!! Only thing that bothered me, we had our apartment around the back of the hotel and the pathway to that when wet was very slippery and I did end up falling over when it rained. However do not be put off by this! Wonderful hotel and would return in the hotter months!

Just returned from a week based at the Regency Club, Adeje in Tenerife (October 2013). Quite simply one of the best RCI resorts I have ever stayed at. Much better decorated and furnished than many others (modern decor, not 20 years old like so many others!). Huge balcony, very quiet peaceful resort but with large gym, sauna and jacuzzis on-site as well as large heated outdoor pool. Service from all the staff was superb throughout, with a special mention in particular to the Reception Team who spoke multiple languages, dealt with all requests quickly and always with a smile on their faces. The one bed apartment was large and well furnished and free wi-fi was available throughout the resort. The Maid visited every day and the resort was spotlessly clean throughout. Small but well stocked supermarket on-site and English Newspapers available every day. Up a bit of a hill a mile or so away from the beach but within a few minutes walk of plenty of nightlife and restaurants etc. The best compliment I can give this resort is that it would be at home in America with their renowned better service levels and quality of furnishings. Would strongly recommend this resort to all.

Had a hard time picking a hotel for an autumn break this year....every hotel had the usual mix of good and bad on trip advisor so in the end just asked the travel agent to make a recommendation based on their experience/travels.

So we ended up in regency country club. Great hotel, very much enjoyed the trip.

Putting some of the bad reviews to bed.....firstly yes it's near a busy road, didn't disturb us one bit, nor can you see the road unless you venture to the car park.

Secondly....the time share thing. Can honestly say we were never approached during the whole trip. If it hadn't been for trip advisor we wouldn't have known it was a time share hotel.

Thirdly...it's remote. Yes but that means it's quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Exactly what we want in a holiday. It did NOT however lack atmosphere, plenty happening round the pool, reasonable standard of entertainment at night while eating dinner (one duo in particular did a fine rendition of most of dire straights 'sultans of swing" album....fantastic) and 5 mins on the free bus has you in the centre of things.

The apartments were great, large, great balcony and a comfortable bed (may be on the hard side for some but good for the back and we both slept very well).

The food was great, not tied into any time, and a choice on half board of the main hotel restaurant or up the hill 175 meters to the gourmet restaurant which had a lovely setting and atmosphere. We were well looked after in the hotel restaurant by Giles who made sure we never wanted for anything, and was great craic!

The pool is superb, loads of sun loungers at any time so no need to be up early.

Special mention has to go to Nathan at ready excursions on the main beach front promenade at san telmo. Not pushy, honest, enthusiastic and had great recommendations for us. We booked turbo buggy's (60 mile drive up to the top of the volcano and back down thru the forest) and 2 hours on a jet ski with snorkelling. If your looking to do a few activities to your holiday come down here....you won't be disappointed.

All in all great holiday

Visited Regency Country Club several times as my wife is an owner.

The resort is idyllic, with a calm and relaxing environment and great facilities. The pool and surrounds are spacious, a good range of activities available eg crazy golf [in a secluded area], table tennis, gym, pool, etc. with a kids club and fun family games if you want to join in.

The staff are unbelievable, so friendly and helpful, and I've never experienced so many guests of every nationality who are equally friendly without being intrusive - last week we met French, Belgian, and British guests and this enhanced our enjoyment.

The bar and restaurant is reasonable, although slightly overpriced - a beer at €3.80 as opposed to €1-2 in town but that's what you get with a captive audience.

Location is good as it is peaceful and tranquil but with easy access to the bustle of Los Cristiano and Playa las Americas. The shuttle is excellent and taxis not overly expensive. Access from the airport is good, 15km and around €25 is reasonable.

Apartments are well appointed with everything you need but they could do with some refurbishment on the soft furnishings and beds and some internal redecoration.

Certainly a place for people looking for a relaxing holiday with options to be busy but give it a miss if you are looking for nightlife.

We booked a last minute October half term break, we were quite concerned as we have been choosing a high quality All Inclusive as we have two children aged 10 and 12.
On arrival after a welcome drink and smooth check in we were shown to our apartment by Oliver who took the time to clearly explain everything we needed to know for our stay.
The one bedroom apartment was lovely and had everything we needed and plenty of space.
The pool bar had a great menu with large portions, approx. Euro 8 for a main course, drinks are reasonably priced.
The evening menu was similar and the restaurant very pleasant with low key entertainment.
The Estancia restaurant was fine dining and a beautiful environment.
The free bus down to Playa was regular and reliable.
I really liked the location, there was a really peaceful vibe around the pool but if you were feeling the need for the local resorts they were just a short hop down the hill.
There was also a lovely Spanish restaurant up the hill which had recently reopened which had a village atmosphere.
The pool is around 50 metres long and was heated, the location was also pretty sheltered so I assume also good for a winter break.
I also had a lovely massage from the resident Masseur which I recommend.
