We did a half day Muscat city tour with Omar. He was an extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly guide. We saw all the major sights in Muscat, including the fish market and the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Mosque.

As Muscat is not a very easy city to get around by yourself I strongly recommend a guided tour - and based on our experience Sunshine Tours is a very reliable and professional company.

Booking was easy and Mohammed, the owner, kept us well informed from the first contact.
Our email correspondence was like he's known me as a friend for years..most refreshing.
On the day of our tour our driver and guide, Khalfan, picked us up after arriving at our well hidden apartment block 15 minutes early.
The drive to Wadi Shab was punctuated with Khalfan's local knowledge and informal conversation..just what i want in a guide. He is from the area and knows it intimately.
I never knew the middle East had places this lush and green and the Wadi Shab area is simply stunning.
We had an amazing day with my wife pushing her boundaries for the adventurous!
At the Hawiyat Najm sinkhole Khalfan jumped from the top rim...about 40 metres!
The day ended far too quickly and I would have loved to have stayed a few more days and visited more places with Sunshine Tours.
Khalfan gave us some Omani dates and Frankincense oil that Mohammed wanted us to have as a thank you for booking our trip with them.

My sister and I booked a private 5-day tour of Oman with Sunshine Tours and are very pleased with how it went. Mohammed was very responsive in building an itinerary and all communication before our trip, and our guide, his brother Khalid, was knowledgeable and personable the entire time. This is an all-Omani company and they are clearly passionate about their country. Service is also top-notch: Mohammed even invited us to dinner while we were in Muscat, Khalid took us to lunch at his house on our last day, and we were picked up at the airport even though we weren't beginning the tour for three days. Truly above and beyond.

We got to see a great variety of sights: sea, desert, mountains, wadis. During the tour, accommodations were basic but clean, the 4WD was clearly well-kept, and all three meals a day were included (not the case with other companies, which also often charged more for similar itineraries). One more nice touch: Sunshine did not require payment until departure. I checked with a couple of other companies that wanted me to wire a substantial sum as a deposit. I wouldn't have a problem paying a deposit with a credit card, but was uncomfortable wiring so much overseas without any buyer's protections on my end.

Their website focuses mostly on shorter tours, but definitely also contact Sunshine if you're interested in a longer tour. They were fantastic.
