Description: The Indus brings the romance of the North West Frontier to life. Our vibrant art-inspired ambience is designed to entice the senses and the spices-laden aroma is reminiscent of the rustic cuisine and exotic flavours of the Indian subcontinent that are expertly recreated by our Master Chef. The FoodExperience the warmth and succour with every bite - 'The Indus' signature entrée boasts a variety of succulent meat and vegan kebabs, made from authentic ingredients, using traditional preparations. The selection of fine ambrosia from some of the world's most celebrated wineries, and the distinctively refreshing non-alcoholic beverages are truly mesmerising. The main course features a flamboyant medley of spicy curries, innovative tandoor-cooked breads and special accompaniments. The rage of delectable desserts satiates the sweet tooth. The AmbianceThe riveting interiors of The Indus are a rich blend of the traditional and the modern; laden with artefacts, wall hangings and rich Indian fabrics. The walls are bejewelled with glimmering Kashmiri Jamawar shawls and the Zari adorned silk cushions burst with colour. The lattice screen is typical of the Indian architecture and serves as a partition for the private dining space. Dining ExperiencesOverlooking the Opera House courtyard, The Indus is an indoor and outdoor restaurant that makes every meal a celebration. The Alfresco seating at the terrace enchants the guests with the spectacular views while the opulence of the indoor seating recreates the splendour of the royal courts of India. The private dining area offers the comforts of a lounge and the privacy to enjoy an intimate meal with your loved ones. Maximum Seating Capacity - 145 * Private dining - 28 guests * Indoor seating - 71 guests * Terrace - 46 guests. Located at the Opera Galleria, Muscat, Oman, this fine dining restaurant in the Sultanate boasts of the same prestigious address as the majestic Royal Opera House.

“Superior Indian cuisine”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

In the Galleria, attached to the Royal Opera House, the Indus has lovely decor with aqua chairs and pillows and no red flocked wallpaper in sight. Take the elevator up one floor to the restaurant; there is outdoor seating as well overlooking the marble courtyard but with the highway in the distance. The food is northern Indian and the biryanis are superior as is the well spiced hamour (solid white fish from the Sea of Oman). The waiters are charming and willing to explain the dishes, condiments and spices. The open kitchen lets you see what is going on...the kebab sticks are something to behold. An eclectic wine list. Given the restaurant's upscale local the high prices should be no surprise.

“Great dining experience”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

I had an awesome dining experience at The Indus. The taste of the food was very Indian, I felt like having food at my home. The staffs were very prompt and friendly. As a dish, I like Tawa hamour the most. I also got a chance to meet Mr. Arif, The great chef. He has got magic in his hands…Hope to visit again soon...

“Fine Indian dinning in Muscat”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

The food was very good as was the atmosphere, it was quite busy when we were there so it felt a bit noisy, they have side rooms for events which may be something we could consider next time. The service was good and I found the whole experience to be pretty positive.

“Authentic Food with Good Service - Prices above average”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

Located in the Muscat Opera Complex, The Indus is perfect for a diner stop after an Opera Show.

Authentic Food, great atmosphere and a good service are the main Highlights of this latest addition of Indian Restaurants in the city.

Restaurant has an outdoor Seating and has an Alcohol license.

Be ready to pay a Higher than average price though which is understandable.
