Description: The Indus brings the romance of the North West Frontier to life. Our vibrant art-inspired ambience is designed to entice the senses and the spices-laden aroma is reminiscent of the rustic cuisine and exotic flavours of the Indian subcontinent that are expertly recreated by our Master Chef. The FoodExperience the warmth and succour with every bite - 'The Indus' signature entrée boasts a variety of succulent meat and vegan kebabs, made from authentic ingredients, using traditional preparations. The selection of fine ambrosia from some of the world's most celebrated wineries, and the distinctively refreshing non-alcoholic beverages are truly mesmerising. The main course features a flamboyant medley of spicy curries, innovative tandoor-cooked breads and special accompaniments. The rage of delectable desserts satiates the sweet tooth. The AmbianceThe riveting interiors of The Indus are a rich blend of the traditional and the modern; laden with artefacts, wall hangings and rich Indian fabrics. The walls are bejewelled with glimmering Kashmiri Jamawar shawls and the Zari adorned silk cushions burst with colour. The lattice screen is typical of the Indian architecture and serves as a partition for the private dining space. Dining ExperiencesOverlooking the Opera House courtyard, The Indus is an indoor and outdoor restaurant that makes every meal a celebration. The Alfresco seating at the terrace enchants the guests with the spectacular views while the opulence of the indoor seating recreates the splendour of the royal courts of India. “Complete Rip Off”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

We went to the Indus following a suggestion from friends.
The restaurant is small but nice, with a good atmosphere, although eventually we were quite disappointed.
The food is nothing special, average indian food well cooked. However, we have had better indians in Rome or Doha.
Service is frustrating: we had to wait 30 minutes for 2 curries and some naan bread.
Portions were reeeally tiny, the mutton curry was literally 2 pieces of meat and the chicken curry maybe 4...and even the naan bread! But the most frustrating thing is that you
cannot serve yourself. Once the food arrived, there was a member of the staff constantly asking to serve you as the curry pots were placed
away from our table, on a different small table. I found this very weird as the good thing about indian food is that you have the freedom to mix
and make your own meal.
After this little meal, and definitely not satisfied, we decided to ask for the bill and...there you go: 50 omani ryials! (almost 100 euros).
Totally overpriced for the little food and the average taste. The most ridiculous thing is that we paid 3 OR (6 euros) for a HALF litre bottle of san pellegrino
sparkling water. Never going to be ripped off again by these guys.
