We went to the Indus following a suggestion from friends.
The restaurant is small but nice, with a good atmosphere, although eventually we were quite disappointed.
The food is nothing special, average indian food well cooked. However, we have had better indians in Rome or Doha.
Service is frustrating: we had to wait 30 minutes for 2 curries and some naan bread.
Portions were reeeally tiny, the mutton curry was literally 2 pieces of meat and the chicken curry maybe 4...and even the naan bread! But the most frustrating thing is that you
cannot serve yourself. Once the food arrived, there was a member of the staff constantly asking to serve you as the curry pots were placed
away from our table, on a different small table. I found this very weird as the good thing about indian food is that you have the freedom to mix
and make your own meal.
After this little meal, and definitely not satisfied, we decided to ask for the bill and...there you go: 50 omani ryials! (almost 100 euros).
Totally overpriced for the little food and the average taste. The most ridiculous thing is that we paid 3 OR (6 euros) for a HALF litre bottle of san pellegrino
sparkling water. Never going to be ripped off again by these guys.

Went to this place with some clients after reading rave reviews about this place. Location is great and ambience also very good. Ordered the executive lunch which was around 16 RO and 19 RO for seafood option. The starters were average and the main which was a butter chicken also just average. Overall was dissapointed as expected so much more from this place. There is much better food options available in muscat such as woodlands or mumtaz mahal

If you want the ambiance and location to show off some clients then this is the place, if you are not too concerned about the food and are wiling to pay a hefty premuim.

An eating experience in The Indus is like a culinary journey. The dishes are made of the finest ingredients under a master chef. Ask the staff for suggestions on what you like to eat. The curries are fantastic. The cocktails served are class apart. All this under a moody ambience that stimulates the taste buds. The best Indian restaurant in Muscat

The welcoming ambience - peacock blue chairs against a terracotta decor, and ample yet subtle lighting - deftly communicates a taste of contemporary India. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. But the food is the hero!! Distinctive combinations, and generous portions, of great food, means that we certainly will return!

Excellent value!
