Description: The Indus brings the romance of the North West Frontier to life. Our vibrant art-inspired ambience is designed to entice the senses and the spices-laden aroma is reminiscent of the rustic cuisine and exotic flavours of the Indian subcontinent that are expertly recreated by our Master Chef. The FoodExperience the warmth and succour with every bite - 'The Indus' signature entrée boasts a variety of succulent meat and vegan kebabs, made from authentic ingredients, using traditional preparations. The selection of fine ambrosia from some of the world's most celebrated wineries, and the distinctively refreshing non-alcoholic beverages are truly mesmerising. The main course features a flamboyant medley of spicy curries, innovative tandoor-cooked breads and special accompaniments. The rage of delectable desserts satiates the sweet tooth. The AmbianceThe riveting interiors of The Indus are a rich blend of the traditional and the modern; laden with artefacts, wall hangings and rich Indian fabrics. The walls are bejewelled with glimmering Kashmiri Jamawar shawls and the Zari adorned silk cushions burst with colour. The lattice screen is typical of the Indian architecture and serves as a partition for the private dining space. Dining ExperiencesOverlooking the Opera House courtyard, The Indus is an indoor and outdoor restaurant that makes every meal a celebration. The Alfresco seating at the terrace enchants the guests with the spectacular views while the opulence of the indoor seating recreates the splendour of the royal courts of India. The private dining area offers the comforts of a lounge and the privacy to enjoy an intimate meal with your loved ones. Maximum Seating Capacity - 145 * Private dining - 28 guests * Indoor seating - 71 guests * Terrace - 46 guests. Located at the Opera Galleria, Muscat, Oman, this fine dining restaurant in the Sultanate boasts of the same prestigious address as the majestic Royal Opera House.

“The Indus is superb and worth every riyal.”

This is a rather new restaurant, located in the Opera Galleria. A perfect place to dine after a night of ballet or opera! The decor is dark, elegant and tasteful, the waiters are probably the best in Muscat, and the food is outstanding. If you like lamb, try their signature lamb curry baked with a pastry topping. It's out of this world! The beers are very cold and crispy too! If you want an upmarket Indian restaurant, this is the place to go.

“Fabulous food and excellent service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

It is a great location near the Opera House. Well designed, tastefully done interiors. Love the blue interiors . There are a few private rooms to have a quiet dinner. The food was great and although a vegetarian , there was a lot of choice. The service was very efficient. A must visit in Muscat. Very popular with the locals and reservation is recommended. The manager was very helpful with the selection and was very good with his recommendations.

“Indus - Indians best in Oman”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

The location is outstanding, nestled in the Opera House complex in Muscat the ambiance and warmth of the place is immediately apparent. We were greeted by the Maitre'D and his staff and were accompanied to thee bar area for pre-dinner drinks. The restaurant has a stylish main dinning area with three private dinning suites off to the one side, the kitchen is well located and of open plan style so guests may see the working of the master chef and his teams.

Our hosts invited us to dine in one of the private suites and the ambiance, conversation and laughter were only exceeded by the outstanding service and magnificent presentation of a three course meal. The food was delicately spiced with the aromatic flavour of India and melted in our mouths. A truly authentic fine dinning experience in the heart of Muscat.

1. Food is v.good. Every dish we tried was tasty esp veg food
2. Lovely interiors. V.nice Indian touch to everything right from the table n sofa covers to the fabrics hanging on the walls.
3. The best time to visit is at dinner, after which u can take a stroll at royal opera house which looks beautiful at night.
4. V.nice, warm n helpful staff.
Though its a little expensive, it's worth the experience.
