Stayed here before, twice. Loved it. This time, it was a treat from my friend who lives in Oman. Took a while to check in despite phoning on the day with our room requirements. Think the check in guy had just been moved to check in desk that day so not his fault. Was then helped by a lovely member of staff called "Vivienne". She checked us in early into a room but she was worried it might be noisy at night so offered to move us later. To be honest we found the room fine. Good as her word 3 hours later after using the pool she called and showed us a room on the other side of the corridor away from the night club and car park. She couldn't have helped us more. Fantastic service Vivienne! Room 111, pool level, with balcony, so hop over and you in the pool/bar area ! Breakfast was expensive and a little disappointing for the price so try and get a b and b rate or go out for breakfast if money is tight. Room service breakfast may be a better bet. We went to the a la carte breakfast at about 10:15 (shuts at 10:30), no pork bacon or sausages despite normally available and available on room service breakfast menu. Most things had run out although the chef cooked me 2 poached eggs that were great. If you want to have breakfast tea, then make sure the staff don't pour, let it sit for a while or you will have a very very weak cup of tea ! The pool bar as usual was brilliant "Oka" did a sterling job of making all welcome and making any drink you fancied. The pool staff that dish out towels were very intimidating to ensure you have "checked in/signed in" even if you don't require a towel. Was unaware there was a signing in system for residents and wasn't pointed out at check-in. I guess there are people who are sneaking in to use the pool who are not club members or residents but it did seem over the top until you provided "proof" you were entitled to actually be there !! Overall I still think this hotel is fantastic however the rate we got was less than half advertised as my friend has some sort of discount being an Omani resident. If I was paying the room rate advertised my feedback may be a little different......
