My family and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, the hotel is a little bit too pricey for the value we derived. The hotel itself is a little bit old, but the maintenance is good, could be better though. We noticed the carpet could have been changed and has started to produce some odour. The hotel has very nice facilities tennis court, huge swimming pools including lazy river and kids pool.
The club lounge is nice and offers assortment of snacks and drinks, sometimes though we noticed drinks are not replenished once they were consumed by patrons. The Tomato restaurant offers good food, breakfast is nice, but again on our last day food got finished more than 1 hour before breakfast is over and they never replenished those food. I will love to explore other hotels in Muscat when next I visit Muscat.

My daughter and I have just spent a delightful week at this hotel. We arrived at 5.30am,and were very pleased when the receptionist told us our room would be ready at 7.30 for no extra charge. He invited us to use the hotel facilities in the meantime,or just to rest in the "bedouin tent"in the lobby. Our room was well furnished, with very comfortable queen beds. The standard of cleanliness was not high though. The facilities of the hotel are 1st class; 2 large swimming pools and an excellent gym and spa. The gardens are delightful. We enjoyed the welcome evening on Tuesday. The free snacks and drinks were appreciated, and it was good to meet other guests and staff. The Omani PR staff gave us a lot of useful information about their country. Room service was a bit hit-and-miss in both quality of food and service. There is a good selection of reasonably priced eateries in the complex opposite the front entrance to the hotel.(Oasis by the Sea). Oman is a very interesting and friendly country. I would come back, and would stay at this hotel again.

Stayed with family and friends over the Eid holidays [2012]. Old property but very comfortable & clean. Stayed in the Club rooms. Especially liked the swimming pools [3 pools including kids].
- Comfortable beds & pillows
- Well spaced rooms
- Good food
- Courteous & friendly staff
- Good location with lot of restaurants around
- Ample parking space in and around the hotel
- Lot of choice with in house restaurants
- Good views of the city from the balcony

Dived with Omanta Dive center which is in the hotel grounds. Had some great dives and very professional service.

Highly Recommended!!

When going to any Intercontinental branch around the world, you tend to have high expectations since it is one of the world's leading Hotel chains. However, if you go to this one, lower your expectations! This is a very basic hotel with outdated rooms and facilities. The room is so basic but clean. You can challenge yourself to open the sliding doors to the balcony. They provided a smoking room without putting any ashtray:) The room service are good but need to be faster. The food is just average and the check in process was a little bit unorganized and we were not offered to sit even while they finish their procedures. Of course there was no welcome drink either! The only plus point for the hotel is the location. I do not think that this should be classified as a 5 stars hotel since many 4 stars hotel have better rooms than this one. Lots of renovation needs to be done to the rooms to make it better.

Room hark back to at decor of a decade ago , a makeover is long overdue-, scuffed desk, jamming drawers falling off hinges, door to small terrace jams and noisy, but would stay again-two wonderful pools , one with swimmming lanes, a really good gym open 24 hours, steps from the beach , good choice of restaurants even though real fine dining just doesnt seem available anywhere

Room Tip: Terrace facing water
