“Classy & tasty”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Perfect spot, right in front of the ocean at Muscat's no.1 hot-spot Qurm Beach. It is meticulously decorated and managed. You really feel like you are a special guest. It has luxurious private lounges -probably needs prior reservation. It also has a large garden -but not as fancy as indoors decoration. I have been there 3-4 times only, the food was very delicious all times. Kebabs and mezzes were very good, but I did not try sea food and the desserts. I regret that I did not visit it more often when I left Muscat. Generally, a place like you would expect in a 5* hotel but on your walk-way and much cheaper than hotel restaurants. It's worth a try if you are someone who cares about the ambiance as well as the food itself.

“Good location poor quality food”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

The location to die for! Facing the ocean on the best part of Muscat
The food preparation is not impressive at all.The price is okay
The seating area is clean and furniture are good.the service can't
Complain. The menu a la carte is limited but the Buffett is a better
Option on my opinion.

“Missing an opportunity”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Le Mer has a lovely location and a number of reasons for becoming a sought after restaurant, but it is missing out on the opportunities. The food menu is limited which is fine, but the quality is average. The most disappointing side is the indifferent attitude of the staff. It is very difficult to place an additional order - nobody attends to you. The prices are on the higher side given the shortcomings. Hope they pull up their socks.

“Absolutely enjoyable”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

We have been dining here two consecutive nights when in Muscat and it means we have loved it.
We stepped in search of good fish and not willing to stick to Hotel restaurants and we found it in a nice location about half way between Crowne Plaza and Intercontinental.
We were also willing to skip "Indian" food tastes that we had for a couple of weeks before.
The menu is not so wide, but there are enough options. Lobsters are on display (Omani Lobsters, good size for one or two people, priced at OR 17 each or 35 Euro) together with fishes (around 20 Euro per kg) and prawns. One can select his choice and have it cooked according request.
We just found fishes in the average quite big for two persons only, while quality is top.
The proposals include some tasty entrés, salads, soups and an excellent seafood linguine cooked in a bread covered pan.
Lobsters were too spicy, but it was our fault not to check in detail about cooking style and fix it before.
Dessert list is interesting as well as cafeteria's offers.
We eat inside both evenings although outside garden and rooftop are all attractives.
Alltogether the bill is moderate for the quality. We just missed a good glass of wine, but Oman is a Muslim country so we have all the understanding for respecting country's Islamic rules.
We marked the place to return when in Muscat.
