“We loved the place!”

The location of Conch Key with its access to the Keys was ideal. The proximity to the Florida Keys attractions was great. We were able to easily visit Key West but really didn't want to leave Conch Key. We prepared seafood in the studio each night after sailing our ComPac 20. We kayaked, hiked, biked..... The studio was tastefully decorated and the boat was shipshape. Our hosts made us feel very much at home. We look forward to our next visit.

“A Perfect Combination of Tropical Accomodations and Water Activities”

Our week in this slice of paradise just flew by, and is certainly one we intend to repeat! Having sailed on inland freshwater lakes for over 35 years, we found that in addition to the first-rate accommodations, it was the ideal place for us to get our first experience with tides, currents, and other particulars of saltwater sailing. Both the house, decorated with charming nautical antiques, and the Compac 23 were clean, well maintained and provisioned. The dock and porch provided a magnificent place for sun-downers. We also enjoyed daily kayaking and biking right from the cottage. "Critter Count" stood at dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, and lots of sea birds. Owners Tom and Peggy, as well as care-takers Danny and Michelle were friendly and helpful, making us feel at home and pointing us in the direction of good restaurants, beaches, etc. The complimentary pass to the Dolphin Research Center was also a very nice bonus. The orientation to the boat and how to navigate the channel from the dock was also very well done. This cottage, set in the intimate, low-key atmosphere of Conch Key, with it's great daysailing and other water activities was perfect for us

“"One of our best Vacations"”

My wife and I sat on the back porch watching the sunset over the sailboats, and she said, "this has been one of our best vacations." We had no agenda so the pace was wonderful. We are life long sailors, so to have a 23' Compac sailboat, in great condition docked right out back made for a great way to mix the joy of sailing with the comfort of the wonderfully decorated house. If you like things that have a nautical flair, and speak of history around the water, you will love the house. The breezes flowed through, and even with temp's in the 80's, we never needed the A/C. Conch Key is a respite from the pace of life in the larger tourist towns. We spent our time riding bikes, boating, snorkling and wanted to use the kayaks, but time didn't permit. It was especially nice to have all those "toys" there at the cabin, so no need to haul them. A fun time was had by all.
