We stayed here for two nights in May and had a great time. The chateau is beautiful, nicely decorated and in an unbelievable setting. Petra and Maria offered a great and friendly service. It felt like staying at a relative's house, one with exquisite taste and great hand for breakfasts! We would come back here anytime.

4 of us stayed here in late May. The Chateau is truly incredible - Petra had this place renovated from its sorry state to a place of true beauty. She has filled the rooms with wonderful pieces of furniture and her own unique, creative art work. You'll love the views, and size of the rooms, the location and the charming outdoor sitting areas and pool. What you might not like is the fact that your bathroom and bedrooms are not cleaned every day (however, she provides plenty of extra towels), and there are many, many stairs to reach the various floors and rooms. We all fell in love with this Chateau and the charming places you can see and visit if you take walks around her 'neighborhood'.

Chateau Bellevue is one of the most beautiful places i have ever stayed... It is a real life castle, that has been beautifully maintained and decorated.

The castle is in a picturesque part of Bordeaux called Plassac, and is surrounded by vineyards, fields and the Gironde Estuary. So, the views from the Chateau are incredible.

Petra is a fantastic hostess, and really made our stay wonderful. Her daughter was also helping her out for the week, and was super to us!

We had picnic dinners in front of the Chateau every night we were there (we bought bread, cheese and meat etc. from local shops), while we enjoyed a great bottle of Medoc wine. I would definitely recommend using the amazing setting of the Chateau to enjoy a meal rather than going anywhere to a restaurant.

The rooms were beautifully (classically) decorated, and were very comfortable. Although not enormous, the rooms were a perfectly good size.

Our only regret was that we were not there long enough! We only spent 2 nights there, and we could easily have spent a week there. There is so much to do in the region, and we really missed out on a lot.

We really enjoyed the breakfasts that Petra served - really delicious and fresh with a good variety of things to choose from.

This is definitely the spot for you if you are looking for somewhere romantic... We actually got engaged there, and I couldn't think of anywhere else i would rather have been.

You do need to rent a car (with a GPS) in order to get to Chateau Bellevue, as it is quite a way out of the centre of Bordeaux, but it is well worth the drive. We can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are fabulous!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Chateau Bellevue for a long weekend in October 2010.

A previous reviewer spoke of a negative experience after arriving late to the chateau. However we had a lovely reception upon arrival at midnight on a Friday night. Petra, the owner, and her two dogs were waiting to welcome us and show us our lovely room.

Each room is beautifully decorated, the chateau itself a dream. Very nice grounds, yummy breakfast, nearby wonderful wineries.

I would definatley recommend staying at Bellevue for a romantic long weekend.

I had unexpected layover in Bordeaux, so called friend in the area for a suggestion. My friend knows I enjoy unusual places told me to try stay at this charming chateau up on a hill over looking the beautiful valley along the river. So I called up and was told that there was availability. When I arrived I was surprised to find a real precious jewel hidden in the hillside ! The host Petra went out of her way to help me settle in, and even offered a spectacular dinner prepared by a chef that really had me craving for more of exquisite cuisine . Each room is beautifully decorated with a particular flair and charm. It must be exhausting keeping this Chateau so meticulously well kept. I’ll definitely be back for the summer with friends who I know will be astounded. Should be called C & B because as a Castle, its in a completely different league of its own !!

The chateau is just beautiful and sits on a hill with a breath taking view of the wine vineyards and the river. The long driveway ends at a castle with a large door that dramatically opens up to a lovely chateau filled with beautiful artwork and antiques. We stayed at the top floor with a magnificent view of the valley and a large king size super comfortable bed. The owner of the chateau is quite gracious and really makes you feel like you are staying in her home. I highly recommend this place and we will return!
