This chateau is right between Bordeaux and the charming village of St. Emilion. It is a small chateau, which the delightful owner, Silvie Dulong, is glad to show you, and she has turned her family home, which has housed 3 generations, into a charming bed and breakfast with 4 gorgeous guest rooms. There is a pool for relaxing. It's a perfect spot to get away from it all.

My husband and I had an absolutely delightful two night stay at Chateau Lavergne-Dulong. The chateau is beautiful and the bedrooms have recently been renovated to a high standard. We stayed in the Clothilde suite. The two room suite is nicely decorated, the bed comfortable and the bathroom is as nicely done as any luxury property in which we have stayed.

Breakfast is a typical French breakfast. It was fresh and it was good.

We had dinner at the Chateau one night. The other guests joined in as well. The food was great and meeting and spending time with the other guests was a nice experience.

The location is great for touring the area. Sylvie, or hostess, is welcoming and warm.

We only stayed for one night and i wish we could have stayed for longer! The Chateau is beautiful and has been redecorated in a beautiful style with everything very well thought through. Dinner in was delicious but did put our french to the test slightly eating with the hostess and another couple (Belgian). While there we enjoyed a relaxing swim, tasted the wine from the estate and had an interesting tour of the vines.

If you're looking for a little peace of luxury close to Bordeaux you'll love it here.

Room Tip: We stayed in Léontine which had lovely views over the pool and orchard. Peaceful room as not near th...

Chateau Lavergne-Dulong is a true gem. I am conflicted in writing this review. I would love to keep Chateau Lavergne-Dulong as our little "secret", that special place that only a few people have experienced. That is not reality. When we booked our stay we had read only a handful of reviews and we were hopeful that everything was as it was described. We were not disappointed one bit. We had planned to stay three nights from September 14-17 and then travel to the Loire Valley for an additional week. After our first night, we knew we needed to stay longer so, we altered our plans and extended our stay at the Chateau. Sylvie was truly a gracious hostess and inspired to continue her family legacy with the Chateau and the vineyards. The Chateau is close to Bordeaux if you wish to drive or 10 minutes from the rail system that will deliver you to the Town Centre!

We arrived in the late afternoon and Sylvie greeted us and showed us to our room and explained everything to us......including the fact that there is only one room key and if we want the room cleaned during the day the key should be left on the desk. We only needed our room serviced once during our stay and it worked quite well to leave the key.

We reserved the Clothilde room which was just at the top of a magnificent staircase. The room (as with the other rooms on the second floor) had been fully renovated by Sylvie. It was spacious, clean and very comfortable. You enter the Clothilde in a sitting room with a small couch and a television (the television was was never turned on because we found a wealth of other activities to enjoy). From the sitting room, you enter the bedroom suite, nicely appointed with the original wood floors, a large fireplace and decorated with some tasteful antique vanity, armoire and a desk. From the bedroom, you access a wonderful bathroom with two sinks and a spacious modern shower...definitely exceeding the standards of a typical European bathroom. The Clothilde was the nicest most comfortable room that we stayed in during our 2 week vacation in France.

On our arrival night, we had elected to eat at the Chateau with Sylvie and the other guests. We started outside with an aperitif and a sampling of Sylvie's wine. Dinner was a delight and masterfully prepared. We all (other guests) sat around a large table in the dinning room and enjoyed the food and had wonderful conversation in a relaxing non hurried atmosphere. This was the only night that we choose the eat at the Chateau but others had made arrangements to have dinner prepared for them on other nights as well.

Each morning Sylvie prepares a wonderful "continental style" breakfast consisting of three types of granola cereal, fresh bananas, fresh pears, yogurt, apricots, prunes, honey, a basket of croissants and baguettes, fresh homemade preserves, fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. We did not leave the Chateau in the morning felling hungry...it was more than enough food.

Sylvie as our host was truly gracious and accommodating. On a number of occasions she arranged dinning reservations, winery tours recommended sightseeing and could not have been more helpful. A walk around her vineyards and winery you can feel her passion for making wine. Her winery is small but very well organized and she is a true professional....One of our disappointments was that we did not get to spend more time with Sylvie in the winery.....maybe on our trip back!!

We would not hesitate to recommend Chateau Lavergne-Dulong to any of our friends and family.

Room Tip: Ask Sylvie she will help with anything.

This charming B&B is an ideal place to stay if you are exploring the wine regions of Bordeaux. The rooms are charming and stylish and Sylvie is a perfect host. In addition to the B&B side of things Sylvie also offers dinners which we took up and was very much worth it. Her classic French home cookery style is simply delicious. She also offers tours of the vineyard and tastings for B&B guests, so we'd definitely recommend giving this a go......like us you'll no doubt come away with a bottle or two! All in all staying here is simply delightful.

Room Tip: I'd say all rooms are equally great and all appeared to have views of the vines

This was a fantastic find for us on our way back from south west France and stayed for 3 nights. The location and appointment of the rooms was first class and Sylvia’s hospitality was superb. The tour of the organic vineyard was fascinating. We had a most enjoyable evening meal with some of the other guests which included Sylvia's gorgeous wines. We would thoroughly recommend the Chateau to anyone visiting Bordeaux and hope to be able to visit again. Merci beaucoup

My French partner and I stayed 2 nights here in the room Leontine. It was very tastefully designed with comfortable bedding and adequate bathing accessories (although it could be better if they had provided shower cap). We slept very well at night with the windows opened. Breakfast is tartine, croissant, cereals, fresh fruits, served coffee and tea.
Sylvie, the proprietor, was very kind to show and explain the basics of wine-making. She also offered 2 complimentary glasses of wine to the chateau's guest.

Overall, the chateau provided very attentive but not intrusive service. We had a wonderful stay and hope to be back soon.
