The Welcome has immediate access to the Wales Coastal Path and other stunning coastal and inland walks. It is only 300 yards off the main North Gower Road but wonderfully secluded with an incredible sheltered sun terrace area. We serve a snack menu, a pub menu and a sumptuous dining menu.

“What it's all about, great food and service”
Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

Lovely relaxed restaurant. Very homely feel to the room. Great food simply delicious, good combinations of ingredients and bags of flavour to the food. Service relaxed but attentive and excellent value for money, 3 courses for under 30 quid! The soufflé is to die for (see photo). Will defo return and recommend it to all.

“Could be alot better”
Reviewed October 8, 2012 via mobile

We were a group of four. We had booked the day before for Sunday lunch at mid-day. The young waiter/bar man was very pleasant and good at his job. Certain things on the menu were not available therefore skipped the starters also no beef left which I think 3 of us would of had if it was available. However, decided on the seabass and it was lovely although portions are quite small for the price. The creme brûlée was really delicious. The restaurant was empty with just the four of us there for over an hour and a half wich seemed a little strange considering all the good reviews. One thing I did notice was that the toilets were covered in cobwebs and spiders and didn't look like they had been cleaned in many years. Overall food and service was good. But very overpriced for what you get. Won't be returning any time soon.

“Expensive but worth it...”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

When food is prepared this well it is worth paying for. Exceptional produce beautifully put together balancing comfort with creativity. The place to go if you have a particular craving for something you would not normally buy for yourself or cook at home... Lobster or soufflés for instance... Delectable is a good description... Tea room style of the interior decor does not match the sophistication of the menu...

“above expectations”

It has a cozy pub-like atmosphere and delicious restaurant quality food. A perfect place to have a diner. We had duck and lamb - both were outstanding.

“Worth the trip.”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

We have been visiting this restaurant for many years now and will continue to do so. We have been to other good restaurants in the area and they are good, but we always go back to the Welcome for reliability and consistent good food.

Local ingredients and the best cooking ever! Not cheap but worth it! These days it seems quiet there and I can only put this down to poor marketing and maybe people reluctant to travel a little out of the way but trust me it is worth it. It is always nerve wracking to give personal recommendations for a restaurant but we have done so for this restaurant to people who live up to 50 miles away and they were delighted and swore to return and bring their friends.

I made the mistake last time not to have coffee and then realised that I had missed out on the home made chocolates/truffles, I won't make that mistake again! From the Amuse Bouch to the truffles it is a meal worth having and taking the time over. I want them to do better but not so that I can't get a table!
