The virtues of this hotel have been extolled considerably in the press over the last twelve months. We spent a week there to see for ourselves what the fuss was about:
-location: In Friendship Bay on the Atlantic side of the island in a fantastic cove which made for a picturesque setting. Beautiful views to Mustique and other small islands, including a working whaling station nearby, although no whales caught for several years. A short but stiff walk takes you to Princess Margaret Bay (or the quieter Lower Bay) which are fantastic beaches and great swimming. The hotel owns the popular Jacks beach bar there so you have access to loungers etc and can charge meals to your account. Highly recommended
Rooms: We had room 54 a beach front location which was perfection itself. Great décor, great patio and a comfortable bed.
Grounds: very special indeed and very roomy. More modern than anticipated but done impeccably
Staff: Reception absolutely brilliant-made you feel special from the off and continued throughout the stay. Exceptionally friendly but genuine with it. Cleaning staff very good and some real stars elsewhere like the lovely Emily and the enthusiastic Grayson. Seemed to get along with each other very well
Restaurants: Beautifully situated on the beach and a variety of themes throughout the week. Food fine generally although oats at breakfast and decaff coffee would have added something.
