We stayed for a week in one of the villas with its own plunge pool which was ideal for us as we had 2 children aged 10 and 8 and they thought it was wonderful. The villa was spacious and was well serviced during our stay. All the staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. The sea was warm, but a little wavy for the the children, who we struggled to get out of the pool. It did have excellent sand to play in mind. We would recommend the services of Jenson from Gideon's taxis to take you to one of the other beachs on the other side of the island (5 minutes ride) where the see is calm and shallower. The hotel and island are so peaceful and those who have been there say it is like the Carribean was 30 years ago - unspoilt and beautiful. My parents also stayed in a beachfront room which was large and the patio windows opened onto the beach - they could lie in bed in the morning and watch the sea. We would recommend this to anyone.

Room Tip: Villas are best for families. If you want a room with a view go for a beachfront room.

We stayed here for 8 nights over Christmas 2012, as part of a 3 week holiday. The hotel is very beautifully situated on the beach in Friendship Bay, on the east side of Bequia, looking over to Mustique. It has been recently and stylishly built with a slightly 1950s vibe - pale pastel colours, timber boarded restaurant/beach bar. There are quite pretty single storey bungalows very good for families, but these are not on the beach. We stayed in a beachfront suite, which was excellent, and just as Lisa K describes. The hotel were very kind and moved us to better rooms so we could be next door to our children. The food was great, the service lovely - especially the staff in the restaurant and at reception. The only reason I've given it 4 rather than 5 stars is that for me the blocks where the beachfront rooms are were a bit big and dominating (but even that effect will fade as the landscaping matures and the palm trees get taller), and I felt it was a bit pricey. But I would definitely recommend it!

Room Tip: The beachfront suites are the best in my opinion. The ground floor ones have direct beach access acr...

We stayed 18 nights, got home today. Standards were high last year, but Bengt's team have made it even better. Everything, from Florinda's welcome on arrival to Carina the general manager's farewell, was more than just professional; it was personal and friendly. The chef Nizze is a thorough professional and his brigade appreciate his leadership.
The ground staff have a tough job this year with the lack of rain, but they still manage to make everywhere look cared for, with real pride in their work.
If you don't like this hotel you probably should avoid the Caribbean altogether!

Room Tip: The beach front rooms are as good as it gets. Some of the (relatively) lower-priced offerings are s...

After cruising around the Carribean on the Royal Clipper (another review) we stayed at the Bequia Beach for 5 days of bucket and spade relaxation. The island is simply a wonderful, unspoilt place with wonderful people and this hotel lived up to this responsibility. Great to stay in a privately owned hotel where the owner (Swedish) was happy to chat and give information about the hotel and island. Location perfect, right on the beach and the view from the beachside rooms when you wake up in the morning and pull back the curtains is stunning. Gardens well maintained and pool amazing. The hotel restaurant is in an excellent position overlooking the water but lacked a certain something to make it really good. Breakfast was a fairly meagre affair with the cold ham, cheese and fruits etc, laid out under an insect net which was rather off putting. Eggs and bacon came at a considerable extra charge. Overall, however, we would recommend this hotel to the most discerning traveler but don't expect a small, boutique-style hotel - it certainly is not this, with buildings (one along the beach front up to three stories high) scattered all along the beach front and on the surrounding hills. Please, no more building or the wonderful ambience will be spoilt completely. We would happily return.

Room Tip: If you can go the extra penny, get a front beachside room. The one (I think no. 76) at the very end...

This is a fantastic place.
We came here for a week of chilling out after we'd been sailing around the Grenadines with a group of friends.
The beach front suite was beautiful, immaculate, luxurious in a plantation style that is quite pleasing, delishious enormous brand new beds, double sink bathrooms, cushy and clean elegant furniture, newly built and perfectly located literally steps from one of the most beautiful private beaches I have ever seen.
Tourquoise blue waters, silky sugary white sands, gorgeous lush palm and other green leafy trees at the water's edge. No one selling anything. No one buying anything. No one asking for anything...just pure pleasure.
Lovely generous friendly people, green and orange painted fishing boats, and in many places (a beach a 20 min walk away) snorkeling with beautiful fish right off the beach!
Quite good food in the resident restaurant, a lovely and fun small beach front bar.
A concierge who knows what's going on all over the island.
This place is class all the way without any of the attitude.
Loved it.

Room Tip: If you love the ocean as we do, ask for a beach front suite, on the 1st floor so you can walk right...

We stayed at The Bequia Beach Hotel in February 2013 and we are now hooked. The hotel exudes, style and comfort in a spectacular setting and most importantly, the hands on management provides a well run hotel which really cares about the comfort and welfare of it's guests at all times.

The island of Bequia is friendly, laid back, with beautiful beaches and eating out is a real pleasure and very reasonable.

We loved the trip on the Friendship Rose to the island of Mustique which is about a two hour sail away.

Plantation Like motif in the rooms and setting. Attention to detail that generally only comes with hands on ownership and management. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food was superb.
Island was low key and friendly. Numerous good restaurants. If you want to decompress. It does the trick !

Room Tip: Beachview is preferred. We had ground floor and appreciated the ability to walk out the patio door t...
