My husband and I spent Christmas at the Bequia Beach Hotel and had a super time. All staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. They did all they could to make sure our holiday went well.
The rooms are excellent but beware if you have a pool/garden view room, they are up a quite a few steps on the hillside. You get a nice view from the top and there is a small pool but you do have to walk down for breakfast - OK for young legs! There is everything you would want in the rooms including comfortable beds and pillows, soft whites towels, robes, free WiFi or should I say WiFi included! There is a new bottle of drinking water in the fridge day and night and the ice bucket filled daily.
The location is wonderful right on the Beach and although it is cut off a bit from town ( which is why we like it) you can walk it if you are fit or there are open taxis are easy and cheap to get. You can swim in the sea although the waves are a little rough sometimes. If you do not like sea bathing there is a lovely large pool close to the beach.
All meals are taken right on the sea front the perfect spot for a lazy lunch or a romantic dinner. The only slight disappointment was the food was ordinary. Having said that, unfortunately, it is the same all over the island.

Room Tip: There are rooms right on the beach if you can sleep through huge waves crashing onto the beach - won...

We both badly needed a relaxing holiday in a chillled location and absolutely loved this hotel and Friendship Bay. We also fell in love with Bequia itself. Gorgeous room, gardens, pools, staff and location. No-one could do enough and it was breast to have a courtesy transfer from the airport followed by a chilled flannel and lived cocktail at reception. Thanks everyone especially Berndt the owner and the two lovely lady manageresses and receptionists. Even met the chef on the Friendship Rose sail to Tobago Cays! Fantastic.

Room Tip: Local buses fun from road at the top. Or the pickup truck taxis.

Bequia Beach Hotel is the best! On our first trip to the island of Bequia, we stayed here for three nights. The only reason we didn't stay for four nights is because the flight was booked on our return to Barbados. We stayed in the Beachfront Villa, overlooking the Friendship Bay. We saw beautiful sunsets every night. The rooms are very nicely decorated Island style, clean and roomy. I loved the Robes, and the fleece blankets on the beds. We even asked where we can find them to buy. We did have an issue with our Air Condition the first night, they went out of their way to resolve, they put us in a room next door without having to move our bags, until they got a technician in to fix it. It was nice to have complimentary water, refrigerator and fresh ice everyday. The restaurant and bar on site was fabulous, I can't thank the staff and the wonderful chefs, I could pretty much order anything that I wanted and they could make it. I don't like onions and they made special dishes just for me. I was even able to meet the Chef's and thank them personally. All of the personnel at this establishment, from the front desk, security, chef's,Bar staff, waitresses, waiters, provided top notch service at all times. The Ocean was beautiful to swim and snorkel in. Be careful of the sea urchins they are everywhere. This is a perfect destinantion for a romantic getaway. We often took walks along the beach day or night and took midnight swims. An experience I will never forget. The cab service was good, quite fun to sit on the back of a pick up. This hotel is very accessible and easy to navigate. The staff is knowledgeable about places to visit, fun place to see and getting excursions booked. Don't miss the BBQ Buffet on Wednesday night with Reggae music. The rooms don't have TV's which was a plus. The grounds were kept up beautifully as well. On Thursday we we took an excursion over to Mustique. We used Michael's tours, he has a beautiful boat and will come to the Jetty next to the hotel. Michael is very friendly and knows alot of the 32 islands by name. This was an awesome experience that I will never forget. Mustique was beautiful and visit Basils and Lisa's place The View. The view is awesome and the food excellent. We have been home for two weeks and have already started discussions about our return vist. The island of Bequia is truly a magical experience.

Room Tip: Choose the Beachfront Villa's,they face the Ocean.

Our first trip to this hotel was about 8 years ago and I wrote a tiny review. Why? Because back then you could hardly call it a hotel as it was more like a building site and we lasted only 3 days. The guy who runs (and possibly owns) the hotel is a Swede called Bengt Mortenson, a charming man who, at that time had plenty of plans but not too much to show for it. Come back when it is finished he called out as we drove off to catch a hastily booked flight to Mustique instead.
So that was that until this year as a chilly UK December loomed we decided to take a chance, leap of faith, whatever you want to call it and go back. You see Bequia is such a special place but we also enjoy the luxuries of retired life and there was nowhere else on the island that we felt we could stay.
We flew to Barbados, had a hassle free short connection and arrived in Bequia at 5 p.m that same day. Thank goodness we found a total improvement on what we met the first time. This time the road sloped down to a beautiful, friendly reception area , were greeted with a cool drink and whisked to our room. The room was splendidly large with a balcony overlooking the bay. It had a safe, a drinks cooler and bath robes as well as complimentary toiletries; beach towels etc. so no need to bring some.
What had been a building site is now a small but immaculate hotel resort with free form pool, spa, and beach restaurant. Everything seems new and clean including the pool and beach chairs and I admit we were very impressed…and not a little relieved. The food was good and so was the limited entertainment they provide. Everything is low key, relaxed and high quality, in fact very Swedish. The GM is a beautiful (in every sense of the word!) Swedish lady called Carina Petersen and she was always around to take care of her guests. You want something? Just phone reception and a cheerful lady will get it for you.
So we had an unforgettable time and made lots of new friends. OK there is no room service but, if you need it? Pick up the phone and it will come. There are no real watersports but hey, do you really want to jet ski and they will lend you flippers? There is no TV most of the rooms but to me that is an asset!
The best part were the people. Apart from the lovely Carina there were the guys and girls in the bar and restaurants. So thanks Ozan, Colin, Bridget, Daria and all of you for an unforgettable holiday.

After a pleasant vacation in February at this hotel, we returned and stayed for another two weeks in November. My wife and I where most satified and already plan to come back!

We are positive surprised how much the Hotel developed during these 8 months. Let me mention a few:
The personal was just as friendly as last time but worked faster and better in a excellent team.
The head management were very much "on it's toe", eager to please you!

New for this season is the famous Swedish Chef Nizze (Nils-Bertil Hansson) with his team.
They often changed menues. Nizze mingled in the restaurant to talk to the guests, which we enjoyed very much.

The food was so excellent that we stayed and eat inside the hotel 8 out of 12 days. To manage to serve good food at this high level on a small island must be a logistic wonder! The restaurant holds absolutely top class!

The new poolarea with its charming facilities was clean and enjoyable. We also like to point out the fantastic work of the gardeners.

We will be back!

Owned, managed & run by delightful Swedish people the entire hotel is finished to an exacting standard. The attention to detail everywhere is amazing & our beach front suite was a delight. The main restaurant serves mouth watering and superbly cooked meals overseen by the Swedish executive chef who is very 'hands on' & welcomes comments & suggestions - a Tapas restaurant is also available 2 days a week. All the staff here are very approachable & really want to take care of your every need. The hotel is in spacious attractive gardens on beautiful Friendship Bay - a lovely beach with safe swimming
The Island boasts beautiful views over the Grenadines and the Island people are very friendly & helpful - we had no 'uncomfortable' feeling at all. The Turtle Sanctuary is a must to visit, also the Maritime Museum and the model boat building workshop. Good ferry service to St Vincent, also the Friendship Rose (original ferry now privately owned) goes to Mustique and Tobago Cays - all worth visiting.
Although a little difficult to get to (take a few essentials in your hand luggage!!) Bequia is well worth a visit and staying at Bequia Beach Hotel is a must.

Room Tip: Beachfront Suite - ground floor for accessability and views.

Let me start off by saying "What an amazingly beautiful hotel, location and grounds." You can tell that love, dedication and passion was put into every square inch of this facility. In return giving it such class, charm and comfort.

The eye appeall will capture your heart, initially, but what will ultimately win you over is the fabulous service. The true compassion you will receive from every department of staff will continue to amaze you.

My husband and I loved that the owner was there on a regular basis, impoving on his piece of art, mingling with his staff and constantling checking in on his guest.

The food was just as fabulous as the rest of the experience. Actually, my husband and I experienced some of our best meals ever, here, thanks to the amazing chef from Switzerland.

We will return to Bequia and of course stay at BEQUIA BEACH HOTEL.

Thanks to the staff!

**The people of Bequia are a flection of how the rest of the world should be- RESPECT!
