My wife and I decided to try the special, tuna on Caesar. While the fish was good, the salad did not live up to its name. Not worth the title "special."

The hibiscus on our table was a nice try - would have been better before it died, the day before. Three of us ordered the special, Caesar salad with tuna. The tuna was well prepared, but the lettuce was cut the same day as the hibiscus, yesterday. We could see the rust on the edges. The dressing had neither garlic, nor lemon nor anchovy. Mayonnaise sums it up. The setting was superb, the service fine. But, this place needs a chef who cares, someone who pays attention to the little things, someone who can present fresh-cut lettuce and actually make Caesar dressing.

We have dined at the restaurant twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. We have also used the bar. First, let me say that the food is perfectly fine and interesting--NYC it is not, so don't get your hopes up. It is pricey, (you can hit $150 USD for a full dinner for two with cocktails/tax/tip) but not outrageous, and it is not a very adventuresome menu. But, I would be surprised if you were disappointed. Second, the location is excellent. Top notch in every way--probably worth the trip. Third, the service was pleasant and generally competent and attentive. Fourth, they are very good about the USD/ECD exchange rate, and they publish it item by item on all their menus: a pleasant difference from several other places on the island, places that can be a bit "vague" about the rate...and never vague in your favor. Applause there, too.

So, not a regular dinig spot if you are on a budget, but location and demeanor do count a good deal, and you can enjoy it all for less at the bar (separate menu for lunch).

Right on the Ocean at Friendship Bay ! Most visitors on the island make this a stop. Met the former Prime Minister - Mitchell in attendance one night !

My husband and I dropped in for their weekly barbeque night and were astounded by the quality of the food! Local fruits and vegetables and kingfish made up a good portion of the meal! And the BBQ steak was by far the best steak we had all trip! If you do nothing else make sure to try the kingfish (it was grilled perfectly) and the lime coconut curry sauce - simply amazing!
