chips were hand cut and good, staff seemed a bit flustered. Had a far better vfm meal at 'the water front' in Anstruther, very good and great staff

“Charming, great pub grub and seafood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

Lovely place for lunch or dinner in a cosy pub atmosphere or out on the pier with fantstic views of the forth. The food is at the top end of pub grub with great specials which include lobster and crab depending on availability. A friendly atmosphere and a beautiful place ot eat.

“Cosy Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

Stayed in the area during a visit to the golf at Kingsbarns etc'.We popped in for a drink and were made very welcome so returned the following night to eat. Lovely traditional, cosy bars and warm atmosphere. Staff all very friendly and efficient.Service with a smile is not dead! The food choice and quality was very good. Nice location down by the sea in a quiet village which is good to wander around- including Robinson Crusoe's statue. Because of our experience for food and drinks we would definitely consider staying there on a return trip to the area.

“Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

I have ate here quite a few times, always at lunch time and in the pub section. The food always seems freshly cooked and definitley at the high end of pub food. Its a really nice little pub as well in a really nice little fishing village so its worth a visit. Recomended

“Decent food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

On holiday in lower largo and this is the only restaurant in lower largo village.

We ate here twice during our holiday and enjoyed the food. We had fish and chips which was fresh and nicely cooked. On our second visit we had the chicken pie. The portion sizes are good and the food is fresh and cooked from scratch.

We ate in the lounge which is a bit cramped, however the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. The hotel is dog friendly so this is a big plus. Dog bowls at the seats outside and dogs also allowed inside the bar.

The prices were a bit steep, especially in comparison to the hotel in upper largo.
