“Stunning church”
Review of St Conan's Kirk

St Conan's Kirk
Ranked #1 of 2 things to do in Loch Awe
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We found this church by accident and decided to stop in as we where intrigued the exterior. We parked in the small lay by and walked down to the church. What a find. The place is stunning, it is like something out of a film or a dream. Well worth a stop, we mentioned it when arriving at our destination and sent 3 other couples down. We found it fascinating that it was build in the 30's and looking at the architecture it is very cleverly designed. Well worth a stop, a total gem.

This very pretty church is well worth stopping to visit. It was a little tricky to park in the lay-by & cross a busy road on foot but the interior is just stunning

hidden gem in way to Oban ,beautiful beside the loch awe , just feel to close to nature,As people have said it dates from the 1930s and is basically a pastiche of a range of earlier styles, executed I have to say with rather less finesse than the originals

The location is lovely - right beside the lake, and it is impressive both from the road and within. As people have said it dates from the 1930s and is basically a pastiche of a range of earlier styles, executed I have to say with rather less finesse than the originals. The bits I liked best were the artefacts gathered from other sites. If it was not a church I would call it a folly - with the highest possible regard for follies. Definitely worth a visit if passing.
