Previous reviews have complained about the lack of food, bu we found there to be a good choice, 3 each of starter, mains and puddings. A young team run the hotel and are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a good size and very clean.
Have breakfast, walk to the end of the corridor and put your ski's on and ski out to the ski lifts 100 yards away.
Still lots of snow at the end of he season but also lots of cloud, visibility poor on most days.

Nice hotel with a great young staff team who are very welcoming and attentive to guests. The location is fantastic - you put on your skis at the lower ground floor and off you go for the day. We stayed at the end of March and there was still plenty of snow on the lower La Tania runs. Evening food is great and La Tania is perfect for a quiet break, especially for intermediate level skiers. Yes our room was a bit tired, but ovreall the Montana is excellent value for what you get.

Our group stayed at the Montana end of Feb/Beg March. Most of our group have been skiing for around 25-30 years so I can honestly say we have a lot of experience of the type of hotel you get in a European ski resort. I have to say this hotel ranks as one of best hotels & holidays we've had. Fantastic location to a truly wonderful ski area. Ski In Ski Out which you normally pay a premium for. La Tania is a small village but there was enough for us as the hotel was great with a lovely atmosphere where we were happy to stay in the bar with it's very inviting log fire. The food was outstanding for a 3* hotel and I have to say a huge well done to the Staff - Whatever Alpine Elements and the hotel manager have done is brilliant, to have such young staff that were helpful and courteous at all times - they really couldn't do enough for us, even making us Welsh Cakes, Lamb Curry & Leek Soup on St Davids Day - wonderful . They seemed to all work together so well - great to see. The resort lift was broken when we arrived but all the staff were waiting outside on arrival to give us a hand with our lugggage not expected but very much appreciated. We all upgraded to superior rooms so can't compare with the standard rooms but I've never had so many draws in a room whilst skiing before! The room was also one of the biggest we've had when skiing, in the past we've been given smaller rooms for three of us. The triple room booked was also a great size with all full size beds not a `put up' bed squeezed in the corner! Rooms were clean, towels were changed if you asked. Well done Alpine Elements and well done to all the hardworking staff. I have a feeling we will return in the not to distant future, especially if they offer it at the great price we paid.

We stayed at the Montana for a week in March and had a great week. Alpine Elements did a great job - excellent staff and attentive service. This was the second time we have skied with Alpine Elements holiday and they delivered another great holiday.

The hotel is superbly located near the foot of La Tania's main gondola - truly ski in / ski out. Although this is a large hotel (160 beds), it doesn't feel at all impersonal. There is a very large bar (rare for ski hotels in France) with an open fire, leather sofas and stunning views across the valley. Bar prices are good for a ski resort but more than you would expect to pay at home.

There is also a small spa (the only full service spa in La Tania) which is free of charge for Hotel Montana guests. Access to the spa is via the ground floor where there are also pool tables and video game machines.

The evening meals were excellent - for a 3* star hotel the dinners exceeded all our expectations - we have stayed in gourmet chalets in the past and the food was just as good - well done to the chefs! In direct contrast, breakfast was fairly basic though - better if you arrived early - but everything you needed was there.

The superior rooms are really very nice - well worth the extra 30 Euros. Standard rooms are a little dated but this hotel is not about 5* luxury - it delivers great value skiing in the heart of the 3 Valleys.

The Montana has everything you need for a good holiday - highly recommended.

9 of us (all family members aged from 2- 62) stayed for a week from 17th March and found this hotel to be really very good indeed - family friendly, in a great location and the swim/gym facilities fab.
Whilst you could get picky about some aspects -as have other review comments- you have to remember that this is one of those quite specific and unusually large
"hotel come chalet" types of hotel which is clearly marketed as being British run for British clients.
Thus you will expect most staff to be young, British -and there for the snow and fun.
You can equally expect the usual mix of British clients, the usual small minority of whom do little to improve the image of Brits abroad by whinging and complaining at the same time as abusing the facilities and acting out the well rehearsed brit abroad role-enough said. There's really not much that any staff group can do to provide the sort of immaculate environment to meet the quality expectations that some might have when faced with that!
If you want luxury service and a top class hotel then you should pay for that elsewhere.

We have skied for 35 years in all sorts of resorts/hotels/chalets/appartments and I can only say that-overall- this comes well within in the upper third of decent accomodation, food and service we have used -at a decent price.

We found the hotel- and in particular the very helpful manager Wayne - absolutely great. It seems to me he has built and runs a really good team (bearing in mind the motives of the staff as above) and he balances informality with professionalism perfectly. Well done! We will return again for the price we paid.

Turning to the specifics. Our rooms were large and well equipped with separate bathroom and toilet, hairdryer, tv,balcony facing the slope, comfortable clean beds, two easy chairs, loads of storage space and very quiet. We had a 5th floor superior room(worth it for the minor extra price).Having said that I heard no complaints from other guests about any of the rooms.

The food was a really good standard- particularly the 3 course dinners with good choices and very good quality cooking.

On arrival dont be put off- you come via a public lift at the back of the somewhat austere building which looks a bit disconcerting and is a bit of a struggle. But after that when you get inside you find a cosy but spacious Savoyarde environment. A large-ish lounge with comfortable sofas and decent bar prices. The pleasant slope-facing dining room (you have to book your sittings daily) is busy but well organised and service was good we found. They couldn't do enough to help our 2 year old .

Theres a mini leisure centre downstairs which was always well supervised and clean. It had a small warm pool, large sauna and steam room, a small whirlpool and a small gym- all very good in comparision to others we have experienced.

Then of course there is the position- on the piste- slap bang in the centre of small La Tania -everything in La Tania less than 2 mins walk away. You can be up and over into Courcheval village or Meribel in 15 minutes via the lift and then access 600 -odd km of great sking for the day. Hard to beat all that in combination I say!
No complaints from us!

Room Tip: Recommend a superior room, and one facing the slope, But all rooms seemed OK.

Stayed at the Montana 1st week in March 13 with my husband and 20yr old son. The location of the hotel couldn't be better its definitely ski in ski out. The room was good large enough for the 3 of us and plenty of hanging space. The tv could be better only 1 English Channel but didn't spend much time in the room to watch tv. Happy hour great as it made the drinks affordable. The ski lodge is worth a visit for après ski straight from the slopes. Happy hour 4 till 6 with live entertainment most nights and the food is good and not too expensive.
The food in the hotel was excellent. The chefs really tried hard to make the food restaurant quality rather than hotel. There wasn't a night when we received something average. They always excelled in both presentation and quality.
We went on the bar crawl night which was a great way to meet other guests definitely worth going on.
The skiing was awesome, so much, with a great lift system. Overall a fab holiday and we would definitely return.

Room Tip: Worth asking for a refurbished room

Just returned from Le Montana. Good hotel in a great location. Staff are lovely, but all quite young so don't expect everything to be completely polished!

Three valleys a great ski area and luckily snow was plentiful. Meribel probably has longest and most pituresque runs - try Jerusalem.

All in all a great stay.
