Pleasant stay, hotel was clean, room was spacious, facilities were adequate. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend. Only a couple of minor issues nothing major. First the food was great quality but after a days skiing 5 grown men need feeding and portions were small. Secondly staff were friendly helpful and plentiful but could do with some adult help. Thirdly we all struggled drying our clothes after a couple of days rain.

I stayed at the Hotel from january 27 with a large group (32 italian people) in 17 superior rooms.
This was the 2nd stay in this Hotel (first in 2008, when Hotel was managed by a French Tuor Operator : but we had not a happy eperience)..
HOTEL: is really ski in/ ski out. Every room has a locker (which has the same key as the room key) in boots room, just for 2 pairs of ski. No boot dryer. The bar area was warm and comfortable with many sofas but few when all people went into (hotel has about 70 rooms). In the bar area there is a piano but I heard someone play it only 1 time in week. In -1 floor there are 2 pool tables and 2 videogames, a 2nd room where we had breakfast and tea in the afternoon, and spa-area with a little pool, sauna, hammam and jacuzzi, a couple of gym machines. Wi-Fi is free in the bar area but it dropped out every few minutes.
ROOMS: our rooms (superior) were large (unusual in France) with loads of storage. There was a bathroom with an overhead shower with sink and a seperate W.C. There was unlimited hot water in the rooms. Room was clean and towels changed at mid week (no bed linen).
FOOD : the best food we have had in our French stay (this was the 6th stay in the 3 Valleys and 1 stay in Paradiski from 2005). Breakfast was in a seperate room to dinner on the -1. This consisted of 3-4 items of cooked breakfast, cereals, tea (including fruit and herbal) and coffee, choice of two fruit juices, bread, croissants, fruit, jam and yoghurts. This was self service (so as tea-time). Dinner is served by the staff at your table at ground floor and although not the most generous portions was of good quality with one exception. You have 3 options for each course (starter, main and desserts) for 6 evenings : the 7th evening if you want a savoyard dinner, go to "le petit savoyard" in Courchevel 1650. There was also some flexibility if you had decided to change your choice.
STAFF : they are very young but they work hard and always kindly, incredibly friendly and could not do enough for you. A mention for the manager, Craig and Sophie. Daily, they given us the menus in italian (the first time in 7 stay in France)
3 VALLEY : really the largest ski area in the world (I love skying and i have visited, from 1991, about 40 ski station in Europe)!!!!!!
WHAT TO ADD: hotel needs a boot-dryer in boots rooms and Wi-Fi in rooms
I think our holiday at the Montana was excellent value for money and I will return.

Room Tip: Superior rooms at 5th floor (all piste view9

I stayed at the hotel on a package deal with Alpine Elements in January 13. The hotel is located in a convenient position close to the bars, shops, ski lifts and ski schools in La Tania. All the bedrooms were facing the slope. We went as a group and had booked a triple and two doubles. The triple conisisted of two single beds and a pair of bunk beds so we actually could sleep 4. Beds were on the soft side of firm which was good for me and additional pillows were available when requested. There was unlimited hot water in the rooms (some places I have stayed in do seem to run out) . There was a bathroom with an overhead shower with sink and a seperate W.C. The rooms could do with a slight uplift but nothing you could complain about. If I hd a gripe it is like a lot of rooms in the continent was that it needed a central light to brighten up the room.
Breakfast was in a seperate room to dinner which faced the same slope as the rooms and was on the lower ground floor. This consisted of 4-5 items of cooked breakfast, cereals, tea (including fruit and herbal) and coffee, choice of two fruit juices, bread croissants fruit, jam and yoghurts. This was self service. There is a rush for breakfast at 8 a.m. and the cooked items quickly run out but are normally replaced promptly. The same room is also used for free afternoon teas and coffees, biscuits, bread and jam/honey.
Dinner takes place on the above floor which has to serve dinner in sittings when busy. You have to book your dinner choice at breakfast and then book your table at the reception. A simple and efficient process. Dinner is served by the staff at your table and although not the most generous portions was of good quality with one or two small exceptions. There was also some flexibility if you had decided to change your choice since breakfast!
The boot room got crowded for the morning exodus. Our locker which has the same key as the room key would be a problem to get 4 pairs of skis inside. With three sets of skis we had to balance a pair on the bindings of another otherwise it would be impossible to get them in. There is shelving in the locker for boots and helmets etc.
The bar area was warm and comfortable but did get crowded at certain times sometimes with just standing room available. Prices are reasonable, also free tea and coffee is available here after your meal. There is a piano in the bar area but did not hear anybody play it whilst there.
In the lower lounge area there is a couple of pool tables a bar football game and a couple of linked video games. This also is the entrance to the spa area. The sauna and steam room worked well, the hot tub was disappointing as the water was luke warm and the jets not very invigorating. There is also a coupe of gym machines if you feel the need for a further workout.
We had some issues with noise from the restaurant area at night, caused by the night porter cleaning the room and dragging chairs across the floor, also a loud radio from the kitchen when the staff started work. Once raised with the management team these issues were resolved.
The staff were very helpful and special thanks to the gentleman that saw I was struggling with my bags from the road to the hotel entrance and back down again on my departure.
Within La Tania there are 3 good bars, 2 had live music on more than one night in the week. La Taiga and the Ski Lodge. Some of the music was for apres ski and some was from 10 a.m. onwards. There is a supermarket, cash point, tourist office and shops all within a 100 metres of the hotel. Skiing was superb as this is a vast area plenty of different routes to do. No t-bars that I came accross and the boarder in our group did whinge about the flatness of some slopes but was bombing on and off the slopes where possible. Check your restaurant prices on the slopes if finance may be a problem, there are one or two more pricier places which may burn a hole in your pocket.

If you google La Tania there is a good website with lots of information.

Would I go there again? Yes. Alpine Elements have a great value for money hotel impressively located with clean, comfortable and secure rooms in a vast ski area. All what I am looking for on my ski holidays!

Room Tip: All rooms appear to face the slopes, if the noise is repeated from the kitchen/ dining area at a lat...

We stayed last year when a different company ran it, we were happy with the room size, the food, and the proximity of the lift out, so we booked again. This year two of those remained the same, and the food improved. English breakfast was a welcome addition, as was the afternoon tea and cake. As mentioned in a previous post the wifi dropped out every few minutes. Having recently travelled to Vietnam where they managed to have free wifi for as many devices as you liked in all rooms surely in this day and age this could be improved. All said and done this is a great location with access to the 3 Vallees. And we had great snow to boot!

We stayed here for the week from 6th - 13th Jan 2013 and had a fantastic experience. The staff are very attentive and polite and the food was fabulous. Sadly I missed the last meal as I wasn't well but they were kind enough to make me up something to take on the journey back to the airport which I was very grateful of. You had a choice of times to arrive at dinner and it was served very quickly.

Tea and cakes were always welcome at the end of a long days skiing and there was always plenty even if you were back late. Was nice to seat on the sofas with the fire roaring.
The ski in ski out location was perfect, literally skiing right to the door of the locker room which was a good size.

The pool is small but didn't really go on a ski holiday to do lengths just wanted to relax so felt it was fine and lovely and warm. Steam and Sauna and hot tub a very welcome treat for the old limbs!

We would all definately reccommend this hotel. Its good value, comfortable and clean and in the amazing area of the three valleys so thank you to Alpine Elements for helping make our week and good one.

Room Tip: Go for the upgraded rooms if you get the choice! We did and were very pleased with them

The staff at this chalet hotel were all young seasonaires but so polite, so friendly and so helpful doing everything they could do to assist where there was a (minor) problem. We didn't have hot water one evening (7pm) which was annoying but it didn't happen again. The property itself was absolutely fine, other reviews have commented that it is a little tired which is true but it isn't on its last legs by any stretch and I found it to be clean. We didn't have one of the upgraded rooms but nevertheless our room was a great size - if you're used to tiny chalet bedrooms you'll think you're in heaven! It is truly a ski in / ski out chalet hotel though and practically next door to the gondola. The food was good, it could have been hotter at times (especially breakfast although this was plentiful) although the home made soups were always piping hot and delicious as was the tartiflette! Evening deserts were super!
I must comment on the spa - it is small and very basic but to be honest the steam room was great and the little pool lovely for a swim around in circles and a little potter! The hot tub was being re-filled and re-heated when I went in so didn't try that. I did have a massage though from the woman who worked there - my neck had seized up and half an hour (for 45Eur) was expensive but sorted me out - she was superb! Enjoy!

Room Tip: The rooms at the back overlook the piste. The first floor rooms can be over the restaurant and so c...

I was part of a large group staying from 6th Jan to the 13th and it was our first trip to La Tania (although my second year skiing). The coach departure from the airport was a bit slow at first as there were 2 guests missing from the list and the rep spent about 45minutes looking for the couple until we got underway. The travelling time was just over 2hours with a short stop of 15minutes in the service station for food and to use the toilet. When we arrived the hotel was very busy as you can imagine after a full coach load trying to check into rooms, however the staff were very helpful in telling us about the hotel and the local area.

La Tania itself is a nice sized little town with a supermarket, a few shops,a few bars and places to eat. The area itself is huge to ski within. We got the normal couchevel lift pass for the week and skiing 9-4 everyday we only just covered most of this area so this depends on how advanced you are.

PROS
- Very friendly staff, always happy to help
- Great location , ski in and out of hotel
- Large locker room for ski equipment
- Great 3 course dinner , tasty soups and mains
- Cakes,tea and coffee 4.30-5.30pm - great after a days skiing
- 2 pool tables, sauna , small pool and hot tub
- Wifi Available (only in lobby area)
- Ski passes easily collected from hotel or around corner
- Ski Lessons available from ESF or Next Generation

Cons
- Wifi is free to use and a nice idea of having logon details on the back of the room key. There are however 2 small issues with the WiFi which could do with improvements. 1. The connection drops every few minutes . 2. The signal strength means it is only available in the lobby, however it would be a great addition if this could be boosted so rooms on every floor could use the WIFI.
- Although rooms have a TV for the evenings, sadly all the channels except 3 are in french. The only english channel is BBC World News. Not really a con but if a few more channels could be added then it gives it more of a homely feel
- some rooms slightly dated in areas - shower curtains a bit tired and small hole in toilet wall

OVERALL

An excellent hotel to visit just for the skiing expirence itself. Good value for money and very helpful staff. Will certainly considering visiting again!
