We stayed in the Penthouse Apartment for 2 weeks in February and found it to be very comfortable and equipped with everything you could possibly need. We especially enjoyed the 180 degree seaview from the balcony and found it a very peaceful location. Karoll & Nick, our hosts, are very knowledgable about the island and are very helpful with advice on where to go & where to eat and will also help with restaurant and car bookings etc.We also found little treats left for us as Karoll is a very good cook. The welcome BBQ was delicious and we met the pets who are all very friendly. We enjoyed living in the village and the locals were all very friendly and welcoming. We also enjoyed getting on the local bus which stops at the top of the road & exploring. It takes you to all the beaches on the west coast & also into St Johns. We hired a car for three days to see the rest of the island which was ideal for us as we liked exploring on foot the rest of the time. Would highly recommend Reefview for anyone wishing to be away from the all inclusives and the lines of sun beds and experience the real Antigua. All the beaches we visited were very peaceful and we felt totally safe at all times. Our thanks to Nick & Karoll for a great holiday.

Just returned from 10 glorious days in Antigua. We chose Reefview Apts because of its location and affordability. We are so happy we did. From the first moment we met Karoll at the airport it felt like you we're visiting an old friend. Her warmth and hospitality are unmatched. She and Nick saw to it we had everything we needed and more.
We stayed in the Garden Apt. Spotless, had everything we needed. They provided a cooler, beach chairs, beach towels. All we had to do was decide which glorious beach we wanted to visit. Went to the market on Saturday which is a must do experience. Definitely get a car - Karoll will arrange to have it delivered to you. The driving is a bit of an experience for Americans. Steering wheel on the right and drive on the left. I agree with the last reviewer- have the daring one in the group drive.
Had several meals at Chappys. Wonderful and cheap. Sheer Ricks was wonderful. OJs had good food and good jazz on Friday and Saturday night. Pigeon Point was wonderful. Clear calm water and good snorkeling. It was windy so some of the other beaches were rough but beautiful.
You cannot go wrong at Reefview. Definitely have the first night barbecue. Well worth it after a long day of traveling. They were doing some construction so we were treated to a 2nd barbecue "because of the noise." What noise. After a day at the beach you sleep like a baby and don't hear anything.
Wear sunscreen. Use bugs pray at night. Thank you Nick and Karoll. We will be back!

Hands down, Karoll and Nick's Reefview paradise is the perfect getaway. My partner and I, from NYC, have travelled all over the world, staying in luxurious to the charmingly modest of places. The Reefview, Cades Bay, and Antigua is one of our very favorites. As far as the Caribbean goes, I have been to Paradise Island (Bahamas), Grand Cayman Island, and Saint Martin (French side). None of those islands compare to the beauty of Antigua. Between the pristine, undeveloped beaches, green hills and mountains, and the lush rainforest you are sure to fall in love with the setting. Plus, the island and beaches do not feel overpopulated; quite the contrary for us during our January 6-day visit. The best part was the sunsets. We must have a hundred sunset photos.

From my first email exchange with Karoll, I knew we would be in good hands and would be well-taken care of. I was planning a surprise birthday getaway trip for my partner and Karoll was instrumental in making it special in each and every way. She and Nick go out of their way to set up dinner/lunch reservations, helping you get acquainted with ins and
outs of the island, and are able to suggest the type of activities that suit you and what you are looking to do while on holiday. They know almost EVERYONE and EVERYTHING about the island, so you are treated very well wherever you go, if Karroll set it up or you mention you are staying with them. Overall, Karoll and Nick are just great people...kind, down-to-earth, fun, and smart.

Karoll and Nick welcomed us with the best rum punch we had on the island (anywhere, for that matter), provided us with a last minute welcome package of food (in order to be kind to Karoll, just go ahead and order the welcome pack in advance...you will appreciate having those items during your stay and it helps her to gather the things in advance), and made chocolate cake for my partner's birthday. My partner loved her rum punch so much, she made him a huge batch of it for his birthday, as well. We highly recommend setting up the welcome bbq for the ease, convenience, quality of meal, and great company and orientation to everything you need to know. The charges for these special amenities are nominal, considering the ease, convenience, and quality.

We stayed in the Penthouse apartment: Bright, sunny, breezy, tall ceilings (with ceiling fans), spotlessly clean, windows and views in every room, private balcony with large settee and table for dining, well-equipped kitchen, quiet and relaxing...you can hear the waves at night.

Being from NYC, we weren't sure if we were going to bus it around the island or rent a car. In the end, we wanted wheels, so Karoll arranged for a car service to be dropped at the apartment, which we then conveniently turned in at the airport. We highly recommend hiring a car at least for a few days to explore the island. The bravest one should take the wheel, though. Luckily, my partner has driven many times in Cape Town, Paris, and other places with crazy driving. I drove in NYC, but it's nothing compared to this. There are lots of great beaches to visit. Make sure to go to Devil's Bridge and Half Moon Bay when you rent your car.

Our favorite beach was Darkwood Beach. Beautiful setting. Maybe 30 people total on the beach the day we were there (a Thursday). Nice wide beach. There is a restaurant/bar and restrooms right on the beach, along with a masseuse. Great for swimming, as the sand is quite soft. When we were there, there were hundreds of butterflies circling the beach. It felt like a dream world! We also spent one day on the beach near the apartments and not a soul came by the entire day. Granted it was a very narrow beach, but we didn't mind having our chairs at the edge of the water (Karoll will loan you beach chairs). It's so clear and beautiful you want to be in it as much as possible. The feeling of having our own private beach was heavenly. We do suggest bringing water shoes if you plan to spend time at the adjacent beach as there is a good deal of rocks and dead coral, but it's a must for exploring if you really want to unwind and see an undeveloped beach.

The days we stayed nearby, we walked down to the Japanese marina and had local cuisine at Chappy's. In fact, one morning we told Karoll we were planning to spend the day at the adjacent beach and eat at Chappy's, so she phoned them up, told us they caught an octopus that morning and was making octopus curry stew and asked them to reserve some for us! It was there when we arrived later that afternoon and it was amazing! A full entree, with a cold local beer, was only $9US. On that note, take time to chat and get to know the locals and please give a genuine smile and wave as you drive along the island, as they are such nice people and will genuinely wave and smile back.

The restaurants are expensive (NYC prices), but the food, service are mostly top notch and in most cases the view (along with the great food and service), is what makes it worth the cost (in my opinion). You will be blown away by the experience of watching the sunset at Sheers Restaurant. Do not miss it. We also liked OJs and Jackie O's.

It was super windy when we were there and rained for brief periods once or twice a day, so prepare for a quick change in weather, but that just adds to the fun and keeps you in the moment. DO prepare for these sneaky, tiny biters called "no see-ums". You must carry bug spray near dusk and at night. I rarely get bit by mosquitoes, but I was a victim this time. We were there in early January and I still have a bite healing on my upper cheek in early March. It was still TOTALLY worth it...

We want to bring our whole family back and take over the compound. It really is a slice of paradise. Don't look any further...you've found the perfect place!

Room Tip: The only reason we gave a "very good" for sleep quality is due to the high winds that we w...

Enjoyed a wonderful week in Reefview Apartment's Penthouse on beautiful Antigua. The apartment is smart and very clean and has everything you might need. We wanted to chill out and relax and Reefview was perfect for this - and with a great sunset views.

Karoll and Nick are brilliant hosts - meeting us at the airport, sorting out car hire, making restaurant bookings, giving advice and directions (and providing a range of rums to sample at our welcome dinner!). What Karoll doesn't know about the island isn't worth knowing and with her tips and advice you can feel confident about what you do and really make the most of your visit. She will give as much or as little information as you want.

We loved staying on the edge of the village with access to local shops, rather than in a resort. Some of the best beaches we have ever seen are within a 5 minute drive / bus ride and we had a fabulous walk/paddle/wade along the waters edge from the apartment following the mangroves to a sandy cove: a great morning.

All in all a truly special, comfortable stay. Thanks K and N!

I stayed at ReefView Apts in January 2013; and it was so much fun that I rebooked for Jan. 2014! The georgous views, sunsets and ocean breezes were a much-appreciated break from the cold weather back home. Great hospitality, wonderful tarpon fishing with Captain Nick, and too many beaches to even try to get to. Wonderful seafood and lobster, the friendliest people and sophisticated supermarkets. I high recommend staying here with Karoll and Nick as your hosts!

My husband and I stayed in the garden apartment for a week in February to celebrate birthdays and our anniversary. It was heaven! Karoll and Nick were such wonderful hosts, making suggestions, securing reservations for dinner and giving us information about the island. Since our flight was delayed we missed the welcome barbeque but Karoll was nice enough to save our food to have later! She and Nick went out of their way to pick us up at the airport with our plane delay, which was a blessing! It was our first trip to Antigua and we did not know where their apartments were located. Cades Bay is the perfect place to stay, not too far from Jolly Harbor and the supermarket. The beaches are beautiful, the weather was gorgeous, and the apartment was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped. We hope to return to Antigua and will definitely return to Karoll and Nick's "paradise"! Oh, and Karoll's rum punch is WONDERFUL!!!!! YUM-O!!!!!!!!

My husband and teenage daughter and I stayed in the loft apartment for a week during Christmas 2012. We had a fantastic time and would definitely return!! The loft apartment was clean and had all of the amenities one would need. We especially enjoyed the private outdoor shower with lovely flowers and lots of room. This is a great vacation spot that gives you a local feel for the island and is free from tourists.
Karoll and Nick were most gracious. Their meals were delicious and tips for getting around were helpful. We rented a car that Karoll had delivered to the property. We would recommend renting a car to get around the island. There is so much to see and discover including the gorgeous beaches.
There is a local grocery store and numerous restaurants with many varieties of the famous rum punch. Yum Yum
As soon as we returned home my daughter posted a picture on Instagram stating that she wanted to go back! I agree!!
