“Excellent Food and Service”

We booked the restaurant for Mum's 90th Birthday. We were a party of 8, including teenagers.

As it is close to Christmas the hotel looked beautiful with fairy lights. We were greeted on entering the restaurant, our coats were taken and we were shown to a lounge area and asked what we would like to drink. We were given menus which included a excellent Set Price Christmas menu with lots of choice as well as their usual a la carte.

I am celiac and also have an allergy to eggs. Unlike many other restaurants I have been to it was not at any time considered to be a problem and the Manager went out of his way to make sure I had an excellent meal. Without exception the other seven in the party thought the food was delicious and well presented.

It is not over priced and excellent value for money in a very traditional and pretty restaurant.

We will definitely be paying another visit very soon.

Booked this to be near family but it's a joke. Rooms are in a courtyard round the back, no reception, no staff. Breakfast is in a cool bag delivered to the room the night before - 1 choice of cereal, muffins and biscuits. The milk is in mini plastic bottles with no label, seal or best before date. Was told I had to pay the night before because nobody would be there in the morning. Room. Ok I guess - but much worse than a really bad B&B.

Stayed overnight for a family party . The room had a door onto the outside but this suited us as we were returning late and wouldn't be keeping anyone up . The initial impression on finding the room entrance was that it was shabby , paint peeling on the outside door and window frame but inside was a pleasant surprise. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the refurbished modern bathroom was fantastic. Unfortunately I was woken in the night by the sound of noisy pipes and some sort of fan . We opted for the inclusive continental breakfast which was very basic and not particularly good quality (cold croissants and pre packed muffins) but we could have paid more and had a cooked breakfast . This was good value in an expensive area we only paid £75 for a double room.

The hotel is very welcoming. I had a bit of a problem finding it and phoned for directions. The receptionist had a very heavy (italian or Greek) accent and I had difficulty in communication. To find the hotel should have been simple but they have a massive sign for their 'Coach House' restauant and a very small sign showing that this is also the Godstone Hotel. In the dark it is easy to see one and difficult to see the other. I therefore drove about a bit before I found it.
There is ample parking and although the foom I was given was in a courtyard (a bit motel like) it was extremely comfortable and clean. The room was warm and the facilities good. Everything worked as it should do. It may well be that there are other rooms inside the hotel but I am not sure.
I would have eaten in their restaurant but I arrived quite late and was simply not hungry so I cannot comment on this but if the cleanliness of the room is reflected in the restaurant, it will be fine.
I give this premises a big thumbs up.

Room Tip: If you are likely to arrive at night, I suggest that you Google Earth the location first and find th...

Spent 2 nights at this B&B for a family wedding. The location was ideal and picturesque but that's about as good as it got. The room was old fashioned, smelt musty, covered in cobwebs and opened direct into the car park. Breakfast was really poor and everything budget budget budget. If that wasn't bad enough the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. We couldn't wait to leave.

A unique place in a lovely setting, each room having its own front door!
Yes the rooms were a bit old fashioned and the bathroom cramped with an inconsistent supply of hot water..
The restaurant food was copious and delicious and the wine excellent.
Service "faulty towerish" but friendly!

Location is ideal, in the centre of the beautiful picturesque village of Godstone. The coachouse itself is lovely, but the bedrooms are dated, and, require attention. The hotel is clean, has plenty spaces for cars but rooms and breakfasts need attention.
