“Lovely gardens”

We found Doddington when we first moved to the area 5 years ago. The gardens are lovely whatever time of year you go. It's brilliant for my young children as there are lots of secret little paths and hiding places that they love. I like the mixture of the formal gardens coupled with the more natural areas and you can also walk further out onto the estate. The gardens are not too big and you could easily walk round the main bit within the hour but I believe it's what you make it. We generally spend 2 - 3 hours here at each visit, longer if we have lunch there too and so I think it offers good value for money. There is a nice lawn in front of the tea rooms that is just perfect for my 3 to run about after a ball whilst I have tea and cake!

The gardens were in full bloom when we went. There are pond and wildlife in the water eg newts and tadpoles. House Martins were feasting on the pond life. Lovely gardens

We visited in Spring and the tulips were stunning. There is a lovely sunken garden, huge yew hedges and walks in the wood and more. Really worth a visit. Opening times are limited so check first. Lovely tea room on site.

We enjoyed a day at the gardens on Sunday and found it very peaceful and beautiful. We had to wait a few minutes for our teas in the cafe, but it didn’t cause a problem…the tea room lady explained the gardens were exceptionally busy, and normally so many numbers of people only visited on a hot summer day, so they had rushed off to buy more milk! The staff were all lovely and very apologetic about it. We ended our day with the falconry show - how great, an unexpected bonus! Would definitely visit again.
