Description: A traditional family run restaurant, which has been in the same family for over 50 years. We offer home cooked, locally sourced produce including a variety of roasts and fresh fish. A warm and homely atmosphere welcomes you within the heart of the Ribble Valley. The building dates back to the 16th century (originally a coaching inn) and still retains its old-world charm. A cosy bar area with a real open fire a comfy arm chairs lead off to three dining areas all differing in style with possibilities from intimate dinning to large parties.

We called on the off chance, and were not disappointed. We had a very friendly welcome by, I presumed was the landlady. As in previous comments the place does need a refurbish. However we couldn't fault the food, my husband has the steak, which was done to perfection exactly as he he ask for (medium rare), I had the fish which was delicious and very fresh. Both meals were served with chips, new potatoes, roast potatoes and veg. One of us had sticky toffee pud (fab) one had flavoured ice cream again very good. Ignore the decor just go for the delicious home cooked food. We will definitely go back ther if in the area. Well done too to all the staff who were all lovely. Keep it up!

Went here for a Birthday meal as I like trying different places. Very quiet Sunday evening so a little lacking in atmosphere. When booking, was told it was either a 5:30 or 6:30 sitting.(I wanted 6:00): did find this rather odd, particularly as the place was far from busy.Ordered food from bar and about ten minutes later, taken through to the restaurant. VERY old- fashioned in the restaurant, but the food was good and served with care by the staff. Would not return in a hurry but with a few changes the place has lots of potential.

This once superb establishment is a shadow of what we have experienced there in the past. It is actually like eating in a school dorm and food to match, well dated and not much attention to detail. This a shame as we have happy memories of previous visits.

When we visit my wife's brother in Lytham from our home in Maidstone we always try to fit in a visit to the Dog and Partridge, because over the years we have always had a warm welcome, and excellent food. It is well worth the journey into the lovely Lancashire countryside.

We visited the Dog and Partridge on Sunday to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were given a warm welcome by Susan and her staff. There was plenty of choice on the menu with a specials board as well. The roast duckling I chose was delicious and my husband who had the small leg of lamb, commented that it was the best roast lamb he had ever tasted. The veg and asssortment of potatoes (mashed, roast, chips) were beautifully cooked and presented. The selection of sweets was amazing. Traditional home cooking at its best. We finished our meal with coffee and a selection of homemade chocolates/sweets, being offered a top up of coffee when our cups were empty. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff and service were first class as always. An enjoyable and relaxing evening, just what we wanted.
