Description: A traditional family run restaurant, which has been in the same family for over 50 years. We offer home cooked, locally sourced produce including a variety of roasts and fresh fish. A warm and homely atmosphere welcomes you within the heart of the Ribble Valley. The building dates back to the 16th century (originally a coaching inn) and still retains its old-world charm. A cosy bar area with a real open fire a comfy arm chairs lead off to three dining areas all differing in style with possibilities from intimate dinning to large parties.

Lunched here with our U3A group on 23rd November. Wonderful food and excellent service.
Had prawn and smoked salmon starter - perfect. My main course was the roast beef which was plentiful and beautifully cooked - in fact I could not finish it all. Only had room then for icecream and coffee before heading home.

Have enjoyed many lunches here over the past 30 odd years. Traditional country inn, excellent food...the Duckling is absolutely devine, fine wines and real ale. Excellent staff who are all very friendly and very welcoming.

A family group of 9 of us, ranging in ages from 20's to 80's, went to celebrate a special birthday for one of us. A very good choice of traditional meals with lots of extras on the special board. The place was buzzing -it always is, which gives a confidence in the quality of the place. Service was excellent with attentive young staff who are pleasant and nothing is too much trouble for them. Food was tasty, compliments to the chef,( if anything portions over generous). Again plenty of choice for sweets and no lengthy delays. I noticed age range in the restaurant was a wee bit older but thats not a complaint -not everyone wants a place full of children running round, the children I have seen there I'm sure are very welcome & are well behaved and unobtrusive.A great choice for a family celebration at a most reasonable price. A little gem!

Comfortable country pub with open fire during the colder months. Good, tasty food, and plenty of it, at the right price.
