We were bought a gift of Champagne afternoon tea at the hotel, which we took on a Saturday afternoon after staying elsewhere the night before (unfortunately). We were advise a wedding would be in place where visited but that wasn't a concern for us. We arrived a little early and that wasn't a problem for the restaurant staff and we were taken to a table ready waiting for us, with lovely views. Our treat started with tea, followed by the arrival of sandwiches, cakes and scones as well as a glass of bubbly. The staff were very attentive, and we didn't feel rushed at all, which was probably good as we struggled to eat everything in front of us. A fantastic setting and we would like to experience more of the hotel at another time.

Hi Martyn G
What a lovely gift! I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit to the hotel, and that your afternoon tea was everything you had hoped for. Come back in a few weeks and the bluebells will be out, so you can take a stroll in the grounds after tea - hopefully without the need for winter woollies!

My husband and I have just attended a friends wedding at Inglewood and enjoyed every moment, a fantastic setting with beautiful grounds and attentive staff. The food at the wedding breakfast (garlic mushrooms, roast beef and profiteroles) was delicious

We stayed in room 5 which was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean.
Only point to consider was that the heating seemed to be on most of the night in the bedroom and as the radiators were covered with a (beautiful!) cover we couldn't lower the radiators down so were very hot all night making for a bit of an uncomfortable sleep!

Hi Pauline
Thanks for this lovely review, I'm so glad you had a good time, and that the meal was delicious. We really appreciate your feedback about the need to be able to control the heating, and I will ask David, our Maintenance Manager to take a look at the radiator cabinet and make the relevant changes.
Do come back and see us again soon - perhaps when things have warmed up a little!

We celebrated my Mother's 80th birthday here with a family lunch for 12. We are not an easy group, 1 person severely disabled, and all very noisy and oppinionated!
We were looked after exceptionally well by Amy, and I hope her employers value her for the asset that she is.

The setting is beautiful, fabulous gardens, glorious Victorian house and we were even blessed with a sunny day!

My mother had a very happy day, and was pleased with her meal,.... But on a personal note, I have to say that the food was lack-lustre. And the bar had a problem with fizzy drinks.

I urge the management to encourage the kitchen to meet the high standards set by the restaurant staff.
The bar quickly resolved their issues by sourcing some bottled coke and lemonade.

This setting deserves the best in all departments.

Hi Jeanine 20657
Thanks for your lovely review, I'm so glad your Mother had a lovely day, and that even the weather managed to behave (a rare treat this Spring, so far!).
Amy's fabulous, isn't she - I'll be sure to pass on your kind words.
With regards to the food, do come back and see us again very soon, as we have a couple of very new members on our kitchen team, who may have been finding their feet during your visit.
They do however, have fantastic experience, so I'm sure you will be delighted on your next visit.

On the strength of our first visit for high tea which was excellent my wife decided to take a couple of friends expecting the same service and quality. First the positives food quality good, staff courteous. Negatives. cracked teapot, waiter poured the tea and left but no milk and by the time it arrived tea was going cool, hot water to top pot up forgotten. Dietary requirements for sandwiches taken cheese no butter and beef no mustard. Duly arrived cheese and pickle with butter and beef with mustard. The scones had diminished in size from previous visit (maybe ran out of ingredients about 40mm diameter hardly a scone) and were cold (maybe we were just lucky on previous visit they had been warmed) . Wife saw other high teaers had the nice fruit tarts that we had had on first visit and asked if she could have one instead of the chioux bun which she didnt like. Waitress seemed a little unsure if this was possible but did duly return with said tart or should i say tartlet as this too was mini sized compared to others--but it was tasty. Bill arrived with an additional charge for extra sandwiches? admittedly they were ok when explained no extra sandwiches had been ordered. (Note: some places actually come and offer extra sandwiches for free). Overall a bit of a disappointment second time around especially when you have bigged it up with your friends. There was a wedding and funeral on at same time so maybe we were just unlucky with the service.

Hi Vinrougebob
I'm so sorry that your experience of afternoon tea was not up to our usual (and previous) high standard. Whilst the hotel was very busy that day, it should have in no way impacted on the quality of service or food that you received.
I will be addressing your concerns as training issues with the staff involved, but if you would be kind enough to get in touch with me via the tripadvisor page, I would be very grateful.

Booked Inglewood for a single night while working in the area, could not have been better, great room, spotlessly clean, everything I needed and free WiFi.
Highly recommended, will certainly book there again
