After reading a few poor reviews for this hotel I was concerned our stay might not be up to scratch especially as we had been recommended this hotel. Thankfully for us this certainly was not the case.

The head receptionist was fantastic, she was helpful when we needed directions and offered before being asked, to book taxis for us. She was attentive and very professional.

The room was a good size and very comfortable. There was a large wedding function taking place in the hotel however we never heard a thing and slept soundly which I usually find hard to do in hotels.

Breakfast in the morning was plentiful with a good selection.

I would say the room was probably a little more than we would normally pay but on this occasion well worth it.

Room Tip: Room 125 is well away from the function rooms and lovely and quiet.

Stayed 2 nights among a party of 70 and didnt hear any complaints thats quite a feat. The staff were all very well trained and the hotel functions very well. Breakfast was excellent with a cold buffet and waiter service. The Hotel is suited best of all to functions and weddings yet retains a level of service that would suit any traveller alone or a couple.
If I have to critic the drinks [wine especialy] are a little expensive and the rooms although large are on the dark side.

Room Tip: Peraphs away from the function rooms are best

Stayed here for a long weekend and what a lovely place to stay. Staff were polite, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Lovely touches with the bathrobes, toiletries and tea making facilities. A hairdryer and iron and ironinhg board.Food was of a very high standard and even accomodate for gluten free. Beautiful grounds and well maintained. The spa is a seperate building with a swimming pool so u have to walk aroung the hotel to get to it

We stayed last week as guest to a wedding and decided we would stay over to be able to let our hair down a little more. We were booked in quickly with no fuss and told the room was just down the corridor on the ground floor. We thought the room was great plenty of room and spotlessly clean and decorated well, we did notice the curtain tie backs were broken but that was all. The house keeping staff were all polite and said hello as we passed.
We ate as part of the wedding reception that afternoon and enjoyed the meal although the drinks were a little more then I am used to paying.
We had a good nights sleep and a great breakfast in the morning with a great selection of cold and a quality full English.
We took the time to pop for a swim in the spa and this was also well run , clean tidy and the staff very helpful.........would stay again for sure !

Stayed on a Saturday night as it was local to a function I was attending. Receptionist very welcoming and effecient. I only choose the botel because of location and I had accumalated reward points on a credit card.
The room was average but poorly lit, 2 bed side lamps and a desk lamp. Bathroom well appointed. Before heading out to our function we had drinks at the bar 2 x G&T 1 x pint of bitter. This came to £17.95 this is a steep price for The Wirral!!
Beds were comfortable.
Breakfast was very poor value, at £17.50 : 1 rasher of poor quality bacon, 1 inferior sausage, a small poached egg (cold) 1 mushroom and some baked beans. Served at the table so no seconds...... we had to wait 15 minutes to get served.
The published room Rate is £150 . I would strongly recommend staying at the Premier Inn down the road for half the price and a buffet breakfast.
The hotel did have a liesure centre with pool but it was populated by very noisy children so was not conducive to a more "grown up experience" not so much a complaint but an observation.
Overall impression was it was geared up for weddings and a rip off for breakfast and drinks. I wont be stay at this particular hotel again.
