The house was fabulous. Had everything we needed. Plenty of seating for 5 around the table and in the lounge area. Very conducive to girls who like to chat. Very close to Southwold with it's gorgeous High Street and Pier. Hayley was an attentive host and her communication was effective and useful. Just what the Dr ordered!
The ORR is ideally located for visiting the coastal towns of Aldeburgh, Southwold, Thorpeness (a must!), Snape Maltings (though not particularly dog-friendly), Orford, Beccles .... Beautifully unspoilt Covehithe beach just 2 miles away. The accommodation is spacious, very comfortable and very well equipped. It's a real home-from-home. Plenty of sofas to curl up on when the weather's not good. Hayley (the owner) lives in the village which is good to know if you have any problems. Also, as a local, she can recommend places to visit. There's a variety of food outlets on the doorstep- Chinese takeaway, breakfast/lunch cafe (great value cooked breakfast), local pub (Horse & Groom) with very staff and good (uncomplicated food). For walking, park at the cliff top in Pakefield and walk into Lowestoft (a very dog-friendly walk).
What can I say about The Old Reading Rooms, this stay was actually our 10th stay.Hayley is a absolute star. The cottage was ready and homely as always. The cottage is spacious, warm and inviting. If you ever decide to stay here a few places you must visit are Southwold,Aldeburgh and our new little gem of Woodbridge. The Old Reading rooms are situated in a ideal position that makes it that you can visit a lot of places quite easily. It can't be all bad ad have already broke again.
One last word to Hayley keep up the good work
Had a brilliant week here! Fantastic location for exploring Suffolk and the surrounding area was beautiful, with plenty for all the family to do - a variety of beaches and activities are nearby. Wrentham has a couple of great pubs and takeaways too. Hayley was a lovely host - thanks again.
Just spent a lovely week at the Old Reading Rooms. The accomodation is very comfortable, homely and well equipped- you can tell a lot of effort has been made. Wrentham is a great base- everything you could need in the village, with lots of attractions and beautiful beaches nearby. We were 3 generations and a dog, and there was something for everyone. I would recommend this, and hope to return.
We really enjoyed our short stay. Property much more spacious than expected and well furnished. Great location for coast. Can walk to several takeaways/cafe. Friendly helpful owner. Children were pleased with wifi. Off road parking useful.
Good location not far from a dog friendly beach at Covehithe. Spacious well equipped accommodation, with a great shower and bathroom. Free Wi-Fi, which was very welcome as travelling with teens. Hayley made us feel very welcome and helped with information. The area is relaxed and laid back with excellent food.
