Brook Mollington Banastre Hotel & Spa
Ranked #2 of 2 Hotels in Mollington

Went to stay at Brook Mollington last week. It was an amazing stay and a brilliant place to relax for a few days. The staff were more than friendly and helpful with everything, from organising tickets to chester zoo to booking taxis into chester city centre, which was not a bad price at £5. Also the hotel is part of an exclusive scheme which gives you 10% most of the shops at Cheshire Oaks retail outlet which is very handy! All you do is show them your hotel key slip.
The Spa facilities were very clean. The pool and jacuzzi were very relaxing and the perfect way to end a long day shopping! Lots of gym facilities also, which were of a very high standard. We booked some treatments during our stay and the staff there were incredibly lovely and professional.
Food was served very well. We stayed a total of 4 nights and were happy to find different dinner menus each night so we didn't have the same selection and end up eating the same food. Service was very good, with attentive and friendly waiting staff. Breakfast was also very good at the hotel, and on our last morning we decided to have breakfast in bed which was a very lovely bonus of staying at this hotel!
I thought it was a really great place to stay and was clean and well presented. It was a lovely country road hotel with spectacular grounds for a walk and amazing spa facilities which all the family can enjoy. (There was even a baby pool section!)

Overall it was a really lovely stay which both my friend and I enjoyed very much. It was the perfect getaway holiday with spacious rooms and brilliant staff.

In need of some care. The heating system was unable to reach our room after 2 days 'assurances' from the Manager. Rooms on the small size for a modern Hotel chain and are in need of an urgent refurb.
Padlocks on many doors around the Hotel did not inspire confidence in security.
Drinks prices would be average for London e.g. G&T with Tonic £.75 plus £1.75
Pint of Bitter £3.75.
Not a place I would recommend being too far form the City of Chester for reasonable Tourist Breaks.
Walls in Rooms seem to be in need of Soundproofing as the Olympics could be heard on the TV in the next room until very very late.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere for value and comfort

Myself and three friends visited this hotel for our first spa day outing together I have visited many spas and I was really looking forward to introducing my friends to this experience I shush I hadn't we paid £50 each for 2 treatments an use of the spa facilities the treatment package was fine the staff very friendly but what a disappointment the spa facilities were they were dirty cobwebs in the changing rooms and I mean LARGE ones the sauna was very unwelcomeing the steam room was broken the pool side had broken tiles there were just two chairs to sit on so our plan to stay in the spa for the afternoon after our treatment didn't happen we left very disappointed and rather cheated so if your planning to go to this hotel for any spa experience please take my warning go elsewere

Myself & my family have just returned from a 1 night stay at the Mollington Hotel, We came as a large party and all had different room types from a single room to the four poster room, we were all more than happy with our rooms, Very comfortable & very clean.
The location off the hotel was fab less than £5.00 in a taxi to Chester town Centre.
We never used the spa facilities but we did have a look around and couldn't fault it, The hotel grounds were lovely & peaceful.
We all had the breakfast ,again faultless plenty of options from fresh fruit to full english.
Overall we had a fantastic stay and all 14 off us said we would defiantly return back to the Mollington Hotel, Im already looking to re book for a Christmas shopping trip.

Room Tip: Room 5 has been refurnished and is beautiful.

just had a 2 night stay at the hotel which was ok but the hotel is in need of improvement. When we arrived we went straight to the room and to be fair it was ok and no obvious problems apart from the mattress on the bed was hard and you could feel the springs.I had ordered flowers for the wife to be in the room on arrival and they were fabulous. I went down to the spa and had a swim in the pool and did find parts of the pool floor did move which i found suprising but the water was warm and seemed to be clean. The sauna was ok but the showers did keep turning off and you have to keep pressing the button which is annoying. The changing rooms overall need some work doing to them.Back to the reception and bar area the carpets are getting old and are in need of replacement but there was plenty of seating spread around to use. The bar staff were friendly and helpful as were the staff at breakfast. We did not have cooked breakfast so can not comment on that sorry but just had some of the cereals and fruit which was available and that was ok. The hotel is in a good spot to get to chester or cheshire oaks which is where we spent most of our time yet the road was never really busy outside so not a lot of noise. Overall we did enjoy our stay at the hotel and would go back again hopefully to somewhere thats had a facelift and some money spent on it.

We booked a night here with a view to visiting Chester and the surrounding area. The location is great, quiet, secluded, plenty of free parking and just 5 mins from Chester itself.
The staff are very polite and happy to assist in any way they can. The pool and facilities are also very nice. That's the positives.
On the downside the hotel is rather dated and tired, almost a throw back to the 70's, certainly not the four star it's claimed to be. Our bathroom was clearly recently refurbished but the finish was poor. A hole and crack in the sink, dead flies in the light, skirtings that didn't fit.
All minor but enough to take the edge of the appearance. In the main room two out of the five light bulbs didn't work, light shades didn't match, the window was draughty and single glazed, the mattress was terrible with springs on the verge of poking through, the air con filthy with cobwebs.
Again all minor things which added up to spoil the stay.
All said and done we only paid £55 for the night which was probably worth it. You get what you pay for.

Although this Hotel is very tired we don't mind that to a degree as it adds a bit of charater, there is however a difference in being down right outdated i.e. our bathroom needed an urgent upgrade, extractor fan does not work and is covered in cobwebbs, toilet not flushing properly, toilet roll holder not secured properly to wall. Our initial thoughts on the room itself were not bad, however the mattress needs replacing as you could feel the springs and made for an uncomfortable nights sleep and there was no air con or clock radio.

The Restaurant was very pleasant but was let down by the very poor service and food. We had a table booked for 8.00 pm but had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated, we didn't mind that at the time but what followed was incredibly bad. We were not offered a bread roll whilst our meal was being prepared and there was a long wait for the food to arrive and when it came to the main meal mine was very overcooked and for the first time in my life I had to send it back, which then left my husband to eat on his own, after a long wait for my replacement meal to arrive I was then eating whilst my husband had to wait. Breakfast was very average. On the second evening when ordering our main course we were told that our choice of lamb shank had just been sold and therefore had to make another choice, however following our desert we overheard another couple ordering the lamb shank, which they recieved (this was very annoying to say the least).

When we went to use the pool (the staff once again were very friendly and helpful)
I found the ladies changing rooms were not very nice as some of the locker doors were hanging off and the majority had no way of being locked, the sauna was closed.

This is a real shame as the poor food and beds let this Hotel down badly but the staff do everything they can for you. This Hotel does not live up to a 4* standard.
