“Excellent lodge that doubles as a wildlife riverside hide.”
Reviewed January 1, 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Located on the riverside edge of a quite village but within easy distance of both Abingdon and Didcot. Dorchester Abby is only two miles away and Oxford a short drive. Excellent for relaxation and family chill time or to explore Oxford and hit the shops.

Lovely clean lodge. Very quiet with gorgeous views over the river and of passing cows. Everything you could want. Thanks to Annette who was very attentive to any issues. We had a great stay.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review with your family to celebrate a special occasion. So pleased you had a lovely time. Dinckley Lodge is indeed, a very special location. Perfect to get away from it all at any time of year but still enjoy facilities of local pubs etc if you choose to do so. Thank you so much for your booking, it was a pleasure to accommodate you all.

“The perfect escape”

We stayed at the lodge for February half term. The main purpose of our visit was to be on hand for our daughter who is at University in Oxford. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location. The Lodge was exactly the same as shown in the photos. Annette the owner was extremely helpful and on hand to answer any queries. The lodge was very luxurious and we look forward to staying again.

“Beautiful scenery, excellent accommodation and great service from owner”
Reviewed January 28, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

This place was booked as a retirement gift for a friend where we all shared some quality time together. The owner Annette was extremely helpful with places to visit and arranging for a cake on arrival as an extra surprise. Annette also provided us with her homemade bread which Paul Hollywood would have been proud off!!! We certainly were more than grateful. The lodge has ensuite in all 3 bedrooms which adds to the comfort. The deposit was returned within 2 days of my return but we did leave it as we found it which I can only hope others do, as it's far too nice to do anything else. Thank you Annette we will certainly recommend this place and hope to visit again maybe when the it's warmer.

“Relaxing Luxury!”
Reviewed October 19, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Myself and four friends were looking for a place to stay near Oxford for two nights. We came across Dinckley Lodge last minute and luckily the there was availability. Annette was very efficient with our booking and extremely welcoming when we arrived. The purpose of our weekend was to relax, spend time together, shop and enjoy a night out. The location of the lodge ensured we were able to accomplish all of these things perfectly; from lunch at a local pub, shopping at Bicester village, a night at the Crazy Bear and a cosy night in at the Lodge. Facilities at the Lodge were brand new and everything we needed was available; even dishwasher tablets! We would definitely return and recommend to anyone else that were looking to stay near Oxford.

“Ah, the serenity!!”

After having travelled for almost 3 weeks and staying in hotels and B&B's, Dinckley was the perfect opportunity to slow down and relax for thee days. This is a very clean, well-appointed 3-bedroom house and as we were only 2 couples there was plenty of space. After greeting us with fresh bread and a bottle of bubbly, Annette left us to our own devices but gave us some very useful directions. The house is close enough to Oxford (watch out for the road works!!) and other villages but is set in an extremely quiet spot which was so peaceful. We cooked up a storm each night and rested very comfortably. What more could you ask for!!

“At harmony with nature”
Reviewed September 4, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Rabbits run freely, the local heron flies by every morning and I sat on the deck and watched the boats go by every evening with my son. This is the perfect place for a 100% unwind and with all the lovely villages around and exciting Oxford just a short drive away (when no roadworks), there is much to see and do. We were very comfortable at the Lodge and Annette spoiled us with homemade bread twice during our stay. Indeed always available to offer friendly advice on places to visit and pubs to try! TV and Internet was spot on. Would have liked more porcelain dinnerware and less plastic tableware but as I work for a porcelain company this is no surprise! We shall be back and I have my eyes on the Court for a larger gathering!
