“COALBROOKDALE COMFORT”
Reviewed November 5, 2010

I have now stayed here about 10 times in the last 2 years - mainly for business trips to Telford (10 mins drive) but also for leisure (10 mins walk down to the river and to Iron Bridge). The rooms are superbly furnished with excellent bathrooms (roasting hot showers - if that's how you prefer them!) and I slept like a log in the wonderfully comfortable bed.
Superb breakfast cooked by Dawn set me up nicely for the day.
Very warm welcome everytime I've visited and the evening meals have consistently been of an incredibly high standard - thanks Dawn. This must be one of my (two) favourite places to stay in the UK - and I travel from Cornwall to Newcastle, Manchester to Lincoln and all stops in between!

Excellent accommodation, very friendly hosts Dan and Dawn. Dawn a qualified chef did all the catering and it was all good home cooking no ding meals here. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We stayed in the Foundry Masters House which had car parking space and was ideally situated for getting out and about. I cannot praise this B&B enough we did not feel as if we were paying guests it felt more like we were visiting friends. We are planning on returning soon Clare and Alf Nall

We stayed here for 2 nights to visit the attractions of the Ironbridge Gorge. It was a lovely place to stay. The room was well furnished with a large en - suite. It was very clean & comfortable with all 'home comforts', lots of fresh towels, tea/coffee & biscuits. We had breakfast at the Inn, which was delicious with lots of choice. The restaurant at the Inn is also great for an evening meal.
The Guest House is well placed in Coalbrookdale, in easy reach of all of the musuems etc. There is plenty to see & do in the area & it's well worth a visit.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in September. It was really comfortable at the Foundry masters house, a short walk from the Coalbrookdale Inn, just up the road. It's walking distance into Ironbridge, all downhill in about 15 mins. The Foundrymasters room in the house we were in was really nice. It was newly appointed with a big bed and a huge bathroom. One of the best breakfasts Ive ever had up at the Inn which has an excellent selection of real ales and a dinner menu which is reasonably priced. Strongly recommend it if you are visiting the area and the museums. Great value.

My wife and I stayed here for one night in August 2010 in order to fulfill a long held desire to have a good look around the Ironbridge Gorge area and the renowned museums.
We chose this B & B over the net because it looked to have a lot more interest and character than most other accommodation on offer.and an good price performance also.
We were not disappointed..A nicely converted old house ,off road parking at the front ,very pleasant spacious room, well furnished in period style, very well done bathroom and an excellent breakfast in the morning.
The proprietors also have the Coalbrookdale Inn a couple of hundred yards up the road where we dined very well...some rooms also available there but I have not seen them

Booked a short break at the house with booking.com. but when we arrived we found that the owner had no knowledge of our booking ! This was not booked last minute but 4 weeks in advance . To be fair, the owner did find us somewhere else to stay close by, but this wasn't as good a break as we anticipated.

What more could we have done. No booking received from agent Bookings.com. Sourced alternative accommodation within 300 metres. Invited couple for dinner at our other establishment nearby. How can you leave a review on somewhere you did not stay at ?
Sometimes in life things go wrong and it is the measure of people how the problem is resolved. To leave an unnecessary review in an attempt to damage rankings just to be able to apportion blame and get things off ones chest is unproffessional and rather childish. Sadly they will never get the chance again to stay!!

Comfortable room with tea/coffee making facilities (and quality biscuits), freesat TV and en-suite shower (lots of hot water). Excellent cooked breakfast either at the B&B or at the nearby Coalbrookdale Inn (also run by the owners of the B&B).

Comfortable residents lounge with good (free) wireless internet connection

10 minutes walk into the town and Ironbridge Museums within walking distance (Blisthill ~2 miles).

Evening meals at the Coalbrookdale Inn good quality with a reasonably priced wine list. Draught beer nicely kept too.
