Visiting the National Park of Peneda Gerês, in Northern Portugal, these strong granite structures will draw your attention. Old corn dryers attics built over granite stilts (to keep mice and other rodents away) are just awesome. Park the car and make a quick visit. Take some pictures and don't forget to notice the crosses on the top of each and every one. Holy protection! These attics belong to the community and all local producers could benefit from them. A local tradition that seems not to be very much in use anymore. Enjoy!
