“Perfect location, decent rooms and club house”

The location of this hotel is just perfect if you are on business in La defense. Its only 5 - 10 minutes walking distance to any office in the entire neighborhood. There a mall as well which is just couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The metro station is also less than 5 minutes away.

The rooms are alright. The view from the room isnt all that great as you are surrounded by buildings all around. As mentioned in previous review there are only couple of power sockets in the entire room. I had requested for a converter and the hotel couldnt lend me one for my stay instead they charged me 10 euros for the same.

Overall, if you are working in La defense area then a good choice.

Room Tip: The smoking rooms are placed in the first floor, if you want a room on the higher floors choose non...

Good location for business in La Defense and within easy walking distance of La Grande Arche metro on the RER line.

However, for this supposed standard of hotel I expect it to have air-con and to have at least one convenient power socket that I can use to charge my mobile phone and lap top. This hotel turns the air-con off in the "winter" (I stayed in March) because the system cannot heat and cool at the same time. This creates a problem when the weather is not that cold. The hotel seems to be heated to a high temperature, which means that the whole building is hot and stuffy. There is no way of then adjusting the temperature down in your own room. You cannot open the window by more than 1-2 cm so that is no use to provide some relief from the heat. With the exception of an ecologically designed hotel, all other hotels I have stayed in have managed to run a system that provides guest the choice of cooling or heating via their in-room air-con a the same time.

Also, the only socket that I could use to charge my computer was located on the floor via the door to the room i.e. in a really inconvenient location. Again, most other hotels have 2-3 sockets located near the bed or desk.

Both these points have already been raised by other guests in their reviews on here!

The room was on the small size, but with a comfortable large bed. The bathroom was OK, with some wear and tear showing. There was a kettle with tea and coffee provided - but it had to be plugged in at that socket on the floor by the door. Two separate lights were not working in the room - maintenance came and fixed them within 30 minutes of being reported. All the staff were polite and helpful, but it did not make up for a sweaty night. The hotel refunded my €25 (ouch!!!) 24 hour internet fee to compensate for the heat.

I think I will stay somewhere else next time!

Room Tip: When the air-conditioning is turned off you can ask for an electric fan at reception.

This was such a terrific experience that I wish my husband had had more business in Paris than just one day.

The room was grand. A corner room with lots of space. Not a view, but that was okay. You find the best views out walking anyhow.

The staff was top tier Renaissance Marriott--which is what we always expect. They were helpful with every question and request. We needed a late check out, which they easily accommodated.

Even though we prefer to stay in the old city centers when we travel in Europe, this hotel was so nice, I'd stay here again. You're close to shops, restaurants, and the Metro. It was a short ride to the Metro stop.

We had the concierge service for breakfast, so I can't speak to the meals.

I stayed at the Renaissance for 3 nights whilst attending a conference at the CNIT nearby.

It took an hour of traipsing round the Gard Du Nord station and asking several station staff, to realise the hotel's instructions on how to get there were wrong! It is close to La Defense station on the Metro 2 line, but difficult to find the right exit, even if you can read the signs.

However, once we arrived the check-in was swift and friendly, the reception and public areas were pleasant and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. My room was near the lifts but I didn't notice any noise. I could just about see the Grande Arche from my room.

The RD floor had a room-key operated entrance/exit which was on the same level as the pedestrian area of the Grande Arche and it was easy to find my way to the CNIT once I had sussed it (don't rely on signs, they seem to be lacking in Paris - in the Gard Du Nord, La Defense M2 station, and Grande Arche area generally).

The only breakfast I had in the hotel (within a meeting) was alright, but I only had yogurt and fruit so there isn't much to comment on, and the one evening meal I had there was lovely - a delicious, hearty cheese-topped onion soup, followed by veal in mushroom sauce, and finished off with a refreshing lemon sorbet. I wish I had a chance to have eaten again in the hotel.

So, back to the room. The bed was lovely and comfortable and offered standard and continental pillows. The heating was easy to adjust. The bathroom was well stocked with soft towels and face cloths, toiletries, tissues, shower caps and a hairdryer, and a lovely powerful shower over the bath.

I would be delighted to stay here again.

Great Hotel, I travel to Paris frequently and this is my preferred hotel in the area, good service and clean rooms. Rooms are a very generous size too. Also only 1 stop away on the RER from Charles De Gaulle Etoille (Arc Du Triomphe).

Room Tip: Skip the Hotel Breakfast as it is expensive. Much cheaper to wander out to one of the local cafe'...

Having worked for the chain for a number of years, I was entitled to the associate rate . Last time I went this was the only property with a 'good' rate.
The hotel is extremely good, not really a fault in sight, except a little difficult to find the entrance, and it was raining when I arrived.
What I find absolutely stunning is that reviewers consider this hotel a good base for exploring the city. Absolutely not. It's at the end of an RER line, and though not the hotel's fault, of course, the escalators at the metro never all worked at the same time.Unless you are big on malls and long transit rides give this one a miss. Once again, beauty hotel, but majorly out of the way.

We stayed here two nights at the conclusion of a Trafalgar trip through the Loire Valley. Fine business hotel, large comfortable room and bed, typical contemporary hotel style. Bathroom good size with tub and shower. Located in a business area with modern buildings. Lots of shopping nearby with numerous restaurants and cafes. Such a different experience from our previous stay in the seventh arrondissement near the Eiffel Tower but still quite interesting to see this "newer" side of the city. We encountered no problems during our stay and were very happy with the facilities. If you prefer the typical modern hotel, then you will enjoy staying here.
