“Worth every mile!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2012

Recently travelled from Belfast after hearing the excellent reviews regarding The Vines Wine Bar. When myself my wife and our two friends arrived we were greeted by a very friendly waitress who showed us to our seats and were promptly gave our drinks, we were most impressed by the selection of wines available Curio Bay Sauvignon Blaunc our favourite. Such a standard had been set already and when our food arrived the presentation was outstanding and the taste even better absolutely delicious!! Our mains followed by deserts again with excellent presentation and beautiful taste. Overall our evening at The Vines was definitely worth the travel, the modern and warm decor and friendly service made our night even better! The crowd of people in the restaurant just represented the top class quality in The Vines. The restaurant is a credit to the owners. we will certainly be dining in The Vines again and will recommend it to our family and friends in Belfast!!

“First class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

Ate there recently after not having visited for 3 months. Nice to see a new menu, maintaining some of the best options from the previous menu, but some excellent new additions also. The spiced monkfish is to die for! Service as always was very good. We will be back very soon.

“Fantastic evening meal!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

Went out for a meal last weekend and have to say the food was out of this world. From Starter to Desert I could not fault the whole experience. The waitresses and family staff were very helpful and attentive. From previous experiences of other restaurants I have found lamb shank to be fatty at times but here there was nothing left but the bone. Definitely the meat and ingredients have been well sourced in order to provide the best eating experience possible. Top marks to family and all staff!

“Most Obliging”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Seven of us travelled from Newry to Garvagh last week to perform in a local hall. A table was booked for us and, as we were travelling separately, we arrived in dribs & drabs. The staff were most obliging and allowed us all to order separately and sequentially - there was over an hour between the first and last of us arriving.
There was a good range of starters and, unusually anywhere, we were all simultaneously impressed with both our own choices and those of our friends. Presentation was excellent and temperature, as in Goldilocks, was just right.
Main meals, again a great choice over several pages, were delicious with proportions just right for performers who wanted to leave without sleep-inducing gluttony weighing us down.
Deserts had a narrower range of options but something for everyone just the same.
Coffee was not good but that's just being picky.
I got the impression that the water brought to the table was filtered. Why can't every restaurant do this - it is such a simple thing but makes a huge difference to the perception of service.
Very attentive staff without being intrusive and the boss took great pains to make us welcome.
A really good ating house!
