Stunning food from a master chef, the portions are a little small for some of my friends but as a foodie it's perfect for me, great service in perfect surroundings, I can not understand how this has not received greater recognition. A real star of a restaurant

“Lovely ambience for eating the finest food!”
Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

I would like to start by saying some of the poor reviews posted about the orangery are about one of Kenny Atkinsons other restaurants at Rockcliffe hall!! The reason I know this is because they say that they ordered venison and a starter this isn't true with the orangery as you get a choice of 3 menus ranging from 5 course up to 10 course.

When we walked into the orangery you can not believe how spacious it is with an overwhelming atmosphere of calm and relaxation added to this is a pianist in the corner who plays calming music throughout the meal!! The food it's self is exquisite we opted for the gormande menu this consisted of 9 courses of beautifully presented tasty food with the option of a cheeseboard as the 10th course. Even though the portion sizes where small by the time both my girlfriend and I reached the 7th course we where beginning to feel full but the food was that amazing and combined with the excitement of what delightful food was about to be served to us we had to go on! Every meal was explained down to the finest detail by the waitress who did an amazing job at making both my girlfriend and I feel at home ! The service was that good when my girlfriend asked where the toilet was the waitress even took her to the outside of the toilet and held he doors open for her on the way their an back!! Superb

We have ate at some very nice restaurants and this has got to have been one of the best!

Well done Kenny keep up the good work!

I took my wife here for a special birthday. The seven course tasting menu was outstanding. Each course delivered an explosion of flavours. Service was excellent. Serving staff were friendly and knowledgable. The Orangery is a superb venue.

“A brilliant venue for a special occasion”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We asked whether we could have different menus, as I drink very little alcohol, and tried the taster menu with wine pairing for 1 and the 6 course menu for 1. The staff were attentive, efficient and knowledgable explaining each course. The Yorkshire rabbit (with carrots & hay) was exquisite - the velouté served separately in a small cup was superb. The dessert with raspberries and white chocolate looked to be a rather small portion but was so rich and tasty that it was perfectly adequate. We thought the portion sizes and presentation were just right. Overall the evening was an exceptional experience and good value. We would recommend this venue for a truly special evening.
