“Best stay in the UK”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We have travelled from Australia to the UK many times. We have experienced many sorts of accommodation of all standards. This is, without a doubt, the best B&B accommodation we have experienced in the UK.

The home and grounds are beautiful. The room was extremely spacious, the decor in keepng with the home, and the cleanliness is impeccable. The breakfast cannot be surpassed and they will cater for most diets. Don't forget to have the fruit salad made by Mike - to die for. The guests' lounge is very comfortable and well appointed.

All of these things can be said of many establishments. What sets this place apart is the proprietor. Rosie provides the highest level of customer service, is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and is always willing to go the extra mile in ensuring that the guests' wishes are more than met.

This is a good location for attractions in Durham, as well as those in North Yorkshire. The directions from the website on how to find the place are well thought out and easy to follow which makes it easy for travellers, especially those from overseas like us. Thank you Rosie - we will definitely be back

We stayed at Halnaby Hall Stables for two nights as we were attending a wedding at nearby MIddleton Lodge. On arrival Rosie made us very welcome with tea and cake and showed us our beautiful room which overlooked the extensive lawns at the back (or front?) of the house. The main features of our room was the large comfy bed, a seating area with TV and brewing tray. A nice touch was the vases of roses in the room. Breakfast was a feast and compliments to Mike on the best fruit salad ever. Mike and Rosie are a lovely friendly couple who couldn't do enough for you. In fact Rosie drove us to Middleton Lodge on the day of our departure to pick up our car left after the wedding festivities. A highly recommended B&B.

We had a week at Rosie and Mike's and would recommend it to anyone. The surroundings and house were abfab! The room was lovely with a fantastic view. The choice at breakfast was enough to feed an army! You hear about a good old fashioned welcome in the north - well go to Halnaby Stables and see for yourself.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at this farm, this August. Upon arrival we were made to feel very welcome, the area was very peaceful and quiet. The double king size bed in the en suite room was massive overlooking the wonderful countryside. After a great nights sleep we had a great breakfast served by Rosie, she was very friendly during the breakfast and not just leaving us on our own whilst we ate. We were also served with a lovely fresh fruit salad, we would definately pay another visit to Halnaby Hall.

We stayed for a night in august 2012 and what a fantastic stay! We were given a very warm welcome from the start of our stay. When we arrived we were given tea and cake (lovely food and people). We would stay again anytime and would highly recommend this venue to anybody. A great place to stay in beautiful countryside. We would certainly recommend this accommodation combined with the setting to anybody looking for a wonderful stay. The bedroom had everything we needed to have a pleasant stay, there was no noise it was very peaceful. Rosie and Mike are the best! Thanks again!

We stayed for a night in May as a group of 5 and took all 3 rooms. We were welcomed warmly by Rosie who showed us around, the rooms and facilities were excellent and we had the best breakfast. A great place to stay in beautiful countryside. We would certainly return should we need a bed for the night in this area. Thank you Mike and Rosie.
